I cannot recommend Helping Hands highly enough. Every single person is a star, and in my experience, goes over and above normal to look after me. They are always cheerful and efficient. They get me my meals and make me feel important. They never treat me as an old woman who is a nuisance.

The care provided has been reliable, kind and proficient.
Staff are positive, helpful and competent.
The only slight concern has been some small problems with communication occasionally.

The home care my mum receives is outstanding!
The whole management and care team are wonderful and can't do enough for Mum, she's always treated with kindness, understanding and dignity. We, as her family, are very happy with the service given and always have the assurance she's always well looked
after. As always, we thank the whole of the Helping Hands Home Care team.

As a first-time user of home care services, we were delighted with the quality of the carers and management at the Wakefield branch of Helping Hands. The whole process was pleasant, professional, swift and efficient.
If we have a need for carers in the future we will definitely contact Helping Hands.

I will be forever grateful for the care and attention given to our family from your dedicated staff. Always a smile and encouraging words and suggestions for a better way of dealing with a difficult situation. I welcomed them to our home and for the support they gave me. My late husband asked each day
for their help and was comforted by the way they were able to attend to his needs over a long period of time.
I have recommended your services to several people. Thank you all.

My feedback to the six criteria below is based on my general assumption of how I feel the care is going. I get text communication from the carer which indicates her general conscientiousness, honesty and compassion. However, as my mother's verbal communication is poor I get no information from my mother
regarding the carer visits and sadly I have had no information at all from the company to date. I did expect daily record sheet information following each visit but have not had this to date.

I can't thank the manager and the Helping Hands team enough for the care they provided for my dad in his home. They were so responsive and caring, with excellent communication, especially when there was an issue. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.794 for Helping Hands Home Care (Wakefield) is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 34 Ratings = 4.794

Job Title: Branch Care Manager

About me

As the manager of the Wakefield branch, it is my responsibility to ensure that high-quality care is being delivered and we are offering a safe and effective service to our customers. As the manager of the Wakefield branch, it is my responsibility to ensure that high-quality care is being delivered and we are offering a safe and effective service to our customers. My job role includes complying with the five KLOES and following CQC guidance to ensure that the service we offer is five stars.

I decided to join the care industry at the age of 18 starting out as a carer. The reason I chose to go into care is that I am passionate about the care industry and believe that everybody deserves a high standard of care delivered to them.

I am proud of the team at Wakefield; the carers are always going above and beyond in their job role and always ensuring they put the customers first.

I have two children - a girl aged 14 and a boy aged 13 - and I have a Siberian Husky who is my world. I like to volunteer to help with fundraisers for charity work. I like to spend time with my family and I do love a bit of bingo!

Experience and expertise

I have worked in the care sector since being 18 and within those years I have worked as a carer, field care supervisor, and deputy manager – resulting in me working my way up to being a branch manager.

I hold my NCFE Level 2 in medication, I have a Diploma Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social care and I am currently studying my Level 5 in Leadership and Management. I also hold my Care Certificate.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I choose to come to Helping Hands because of the reviews I had read on Glassdoor. I enjoy keeping people within their own homes with families having peace of mind that their loved ones are getting person-centred, high-quality care delivered to them.
