The Review Score of 9.1 (9.057) out of 10 for Helping Hands Home Care (Newark) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.357 for Helping Hands Home Care (Newark) is calculated as follows: ( (21 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 42 Ratings = 4.357
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)
The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Helping Hands Home Care (Newark) is based on 7 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4.7
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Branch Care Manager
About me
As Branch Manager for Newark, I am responsible for the continual contribution to the care planning of our customers, as well as safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our customers and staff. I also ensure we maintain an excellent standard of services for individual customers, all while meeting the standards as identified by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Through identified training programmes, I also ensure that our carers are supported to deliver the highest quality of care at all times.
Experience and expertise
My career in care began when I left college and began working within the Local Authority in residential homes, working with Looked After Children and Young People with emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning difficulties, and with families with children under five, within the Early Help and Intervention Team.
I've been a Residential Support Worker, Senior Residential Support Worker, Children's Centre Area Leader, Registered Manager and Head of Care, and have an NVQ Level 4 in Working with Children and Young People, NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management and Level 4 in Education and Training.
Why I chose Helping Hands
I chose to work for Helping Hands as I believe that the philosophy of the organisation represents my own views on the support that will be available to our customers. I am driven to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved for all customers and that I have a happy staff team.
