We have been using Radfield Home Care for almost 3 years, at first for care at home once a week and additionally at the day centre since it opened.
At home the carers make every effort to engage with my husband in the activities he enjoys and encourage him to talk about his favourite topics and memories.
The
day centre has been a very welcome development, providing 5 hours of respite for myself and creative and mental activities for my husband. He also enjoys the 2-course lunch provided. The supervisor puts a lot of effort into preparing the crafts and activities beforehand which are themed according to the time of the year.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Radfield Home Care.

My 96 Year old Grandad has been getting an hour visit each morning from Radfield home care for the past month and I have to say they are fantastic. From the first phone call with the manager to the inital home visit to the carers who attend each day I can not say enough good words. We had a care team
before but they were cancelled very quickly as always late or didn't turn up at all. Radfield are the complete opposite, we get a Rota each week stating who will be attending and at what time, they let us know if any problems occur quickly and efficiently and most of all my Grandad looks forward to seeing them each morning.
From a personal point of view he has been a thousand times better since Radfield have been attending as it gives him someone to talk to each day and just sets him up right for the day in question so Thank you.

The manager has tried her upmost to accommodate all our needs for my mum. From not calling the girls carers, not getting them to wear a uniform. (Mum has dementia and thinks if people come unto her house, it's on the pretence of her going into a home). To putting with me adjusting the hours as we
realised what we'd first requested wasn't working. Not once did the manager moan.
She made myself and my mum feel at ease on our first meetings. She is very quick to reply to any enquiries I have had, even if the seem small and trivial to me.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Radfield. The manager goes above and beyond to ensure that care can be provided for our Dad, despite the various challenges that have arisen along the way due to the nature of his illness, which other care providers could not manage. They are very accommodating,
with changes in care requirements put in place immediately and the manager even responding to requests made out of hours. The carers have all been lovely - very cheerful, friendly, caring and thoughtful. They plan ahead to think of activities that Dad would like and mix things up to make sure that he is always kept interested and stimulated. Overall, a brilliant service!

My 92-year-old Dad has been receiving morning visits from Radfield Home Care Derby since March 2024 following a hospital admission and living with us for 3 months. The management team carried out visits prior to providing the service to assess the care needed, look at facilities at the home and introduce
themselves. The care professionals carrying out the visits have been excellent, not only with the regular care duties but also companionship - Dad loves their chats in a morning! The team are happy to adapt to anything that needs doing, communication with management is easy and they're keen to make sure we are happy with the service by carrying out regular reviews. The app, which allows us to read a report on how Dad is and what has been done for him each morning, is really helpful. The most important thing is that despite thinking he didn't need carers initially, my Dad is very happy with all help they provide and as a family, it gives us peace of mind to know he's in safe hands. We have used Radfield for both personal care at home and daycare since February 2024. I was nervous at first about trusting my husband to someone else’s acre, but there was no need to worry.
I have been particularly impressed by how staff have made time to understand my husband’s rare form of dementia
and his needs, in addition to being kind, caring, experienced and always punctual. I also really appreciate their flexibility in providing cover when I have to attend my own appointments elsewhere.

Thank you to all the team who work in the area.
My husband has received excellent care especially at the day centre and for us both at the Dementia cafe.
The leader is well motivated with a sparkly personality and enthusiasm.
The sessions have provided stimulation and interest both mentally and physically
for my husband, allowing him to gain some independence.
I am particularly grateful for the free time it allows me. It has reduced the responsibility of 24/7 caring.
I would be happy to recommend and encourage others to partake in these sessions. Quality care and attention are imperative and this is provided by Radfield.

The carers were extremely understanding as my father's dementia got worse before we had to put him full-time in a care home. The care provided over the previous 8 months allowed him to spend more time at home while giving the support and help he needed.

It is rare that I leave a review for anything, but it is simply a must on this occasion. The manager and her team have been looking after my mother and my father for the last few months and I cannot recommend Radfield Home Care Derby enough. Everyone has been professional, flexible, reliable and most
importantly everyone has cared about my parents’ needs. The manager has gone above and beyond to accommodate their fluctuating requirements and I cannot thank her enough! It has been very difficult at times but nothing has phased the manager and her team. I felt really anxious when I started looking around for domiciliary care for my parents. My parents weren’t used to having anyone in their home apart from close family, so the carers and care had to be just right. I checked reviews for Radfield Home Care Derby and they looked really good but you never really know until you’ve tried something for yourself do you. I never looked back! Well done to the manager for leading such a great team and service!

I started having care visits last November. I live alone and I am 94. Loss of mobility and dexterity meant that I was experiencing difficulty getting up and dressed in the mornings. A friend recommended Radfield and I have not been disappointed. All the carers have been cheerful, considerate and willing
to help in any way they can, from making the bed and fixing earrings to taking out the bins and posting letters. The management are friendly ad efficient, conducting reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the care given.

Radfield Home Care has been providing home care twice a week for my mum, for the past three months, who has vascular dementia.
The carers are very friendly, caring, patient and flexible. I know she is safe when they take her out shopping. This has helped in giving me some time to be able to do other
things on those days without worrying about Mum.
If any extra immediate tasks are required, they are put in place by the care manager and the carers see this through.
I like to read the comments that the carers have put on the app about what they have been doing and this always puts a smile on my face and I know Mum has had an enjoyable day.
The home care Mum is receiving is excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending Radfield Home Care to anyone who is seeking home care.

Radfield Care have been providing home care for my mother twice a week for the last three months. I’ve found them to be responsive, proactive, flexible and most importantly kind and caring to my mum. She enjoys the company of a regular friendly face and has built up trust and friendship with her carer.
The care provided is person-centred with my mum’s safety, wellbeing and preferences always at heart. A few months in we have had a review now and added different tasks to address mum’s changing needs - this has all been done proactively by Radfield, involving both me and Mum in an efficient but personalised and thoughtful way. Radfield have personally given me a great deal of reassurance and a peace of mind that my mum is safe and happy on the days they visit. I love to read the visit notes on the app they use to see what she has been up to with her carer. I would happily recommend Radfield Care to anyone looking for home care.

Radfield Home Care has attended to Mum twice a day for the past 11 months. A small group of ladies look after Mum with great care and patience; they are cheerful, thorough and extremely thoughtful. The ladies cover a wide range of tasks that help Mum feel very well supported, safe and comfortable. They
maintain a good nutritional balance in her meals and are rigorous with the meds. Mum looks forward to the Radfield visits and their reports are detailed and very important to us. Staff reviews of trends and changes have led to proactive suggestions that have, and will improve Mum's wellbeing. We find the home care provided to be excellent and would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Radfield Home Care Derby, Ashbourne & South Derbyshire came to our rescue at very short notice after Mum fell poorly. Mum likes all the carers, and with a small rotation of 4 staff looking after Mum, she does not get confused, and the carers have got to know her requirements and likes and dislikes very
well.
The care coordinator has initiated any changes to Mum's care as soon as we have asked.
I cannot thank the team enough for all their help and would recommend Radfield Home Care Derby, Ashbourne & South Derbyshire, without reservation.

We engaged the service of Radfield Home Care in Sumner last year for our dad who has Alzheimer's. All the care providers assigned to work with Dad have been excellent with him, patient, friendly and understanding ensuring he has eaten and taken his meds. They do daily activities with him such as going
for a walk, playing dominoes or just watching a film or the TV if that's what he wants. They've all taken the time to learn what he likes and dislikes.
As time has gone on changing Dad's care package to meet his needs has been simple - just a call to the office and a chat with the care coordinator. All staff have been amazing. As a family, we would recommend the service of Radfield Home Care.

Excellent care provided, all staff were really caring and friendly and went out of their way to look after my mum, she loved being cared for by all of them who went out of their way to make her feel special when required and gave her the boost she needed on some occasions.
Staff, although extremely
friendly and courteous, were also very professional and respectful and I cannot fault them in any way.

The carer looks after my mother and has forged a lovely relationship with her. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble for the carer. The carer always keeps us informed if she is likely to be delayed at all and gives us feedback as to how our mum is when she visits.

Sonya Cole

Job Title: Care Manager

Sonya has always had a passion for caring, commencing her career in care at the age of 16 as a health care assistant in a residential care home, looking after residents living with dementia.


After taking a break from looking after her triplets, Paris, George and Sonny, Sonya returned to work as a care assistant in a care home environment in Kidderminster and shortly after joined Radfield in 2016 as a carer. Sonya quickly progressed to supervisor and more recently enjoyed the role of field coordinator at our Stafford branch.


In her role as care manager of the Derby branch, Sonya strives to ensure that care is provided at the highest standards to clients, and peace of mind to relatives, and the care team are well supported. Outside of work, Sonya loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
