My first career was in accountancy and finance in the City. I knew long ago that I didn’t want to spend my whole career in that environment, so I always kept my eye out for an exciting new challenge.
The Right at Home network stood out when doing my research about how to enter the sector: they were honest and value-driven. Over the years I have become a big advocate for the brand & it is inspirational to work with so many like-minded people. I am fully involved in the day-to-day running of the service and feel very lucky to be able to say I love doing what I do.
I’ve always had an eye for good service, and I really notice when service is average or below: The grumpy assistant, the miserable waiter, or the shop assistant who doesn’t care. My ethos is to strive to deliver excellent service, so anything less than this stands out. I also believe that how we treat the vulnerable in society reflects who we are; some of my favourite moments have been helping strangers in the street who needed help. These two factors combined make homecare something I passionately believe in – the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives is a special privilege.

I am Liza and I am the Registered Manager here at Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin.
I am truly committed to my role & I am passionate about providing the best support to all of our clients & their families. It is important that our care packages are tailored to the individual. This means I spend time understanding our clients’ personalities and quirks, as well as understanding their health and support needs. I often find myself having a really good giggle with our clients!

I have experience as a CareGiver – I started my health and social care career 12 years ago and I worked my way up to Care Coordinator and then Registered Manager. I have seen it all & love passing on my knowledge and experience to the team. Over the years I have completed my Health & Social Care Level 5, as well as various other related qualifications in areas such as Dementia, Moving & Positioning, Stoma & Catheter Care.

I joined Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin in July 2021.
I was new to care, having spent the previous 20 years in buying and merchandising. The reason I decided to start a career in care was going through the COVID lockdown and seeing how much it affected my nan, with her being on her own and how isolated she felt: I realised there must be so many more people out there that need some help and support.
I was made a Senior CareGiver in 2023. Alongside my role, I am studying towards a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. This is helping me develop my knowledge as a care professional. In 2024 I became the Care Coordinator.
I'm not very good with change, but changing my career path was easily one of the best decisions I have made. I absolutely love my job and making a difference in our amazing clients and their family's lives. I find this job so rewarding and couldn't imagine doing anything else.

I have been with Right at Home since April 2021, I absolutely love being out in the community making a difference to my clients, whether that's helping them achieve a goal, listening to them or making them smile. I spend a lot of time forming a strong bond with my clients to ensure their care is person-centred and delivered at a high standard.
I am now a Senior CareGiver and I am qualified to train new CareGivers that join our Right at Home team with moving & handling, medication administration and basic life support - I love doing the training, I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I enjoy setting high standards for new CareGivers right from the start. As I'm out caring in the community, I know of any issues that may arise so I can give first-hand experiences on how to overcome any challenges."
