The friendly and professional team delivers a uniquely tailored service to each individual which not only focuses on the person but also their family. Building positive and lasting relationships with the people in their care is of high importance and so the preferred minimum visit time is one hour.

During the lockdown my mother was shielded and had a few issues over the preceding months. We needed some help as we had already moved mother downstairs to sleep as getting her to her bedroom was proving difficult. Help started within a few days of meeting the team. After a few weeks Mother was much
stronger and able to go back upstairs, which was the main thing she wanted to achieve.
We have seven days a week help, morning and night. I was expecting it to be intrusive to have strangers coming in the house early and late in the day but not at all. We have the same few ladies who have got to know my mother and her 'ways'. They are kind, respectful, always on time and do much more than then they need to; keeping the bedroom tidy, hanging up clothes, moisturising Mother's legs. They never rush, stay as long as it takes, so no rushing Mother which would get her agitated.
I hear lots of laughter coming from Mother's bedroom as they help her each day, which is reassuring to hear.

Ben Selby

Job Title: Owner

It has been a lifelong passion of mine to run my own home care business. I’ve worked in the home care sector for over 15 years, including time spent as a CareGiver working my way up to being a Registered Manager and latterly as a part of the Senior Management Team with a market-leading national home care provider.


I have a Level 4 NVQ Registered Managers Award and am an active Dementia Champion in Crewe and Nantwich, delivering free information sessions to organisations and businesses to help create a dementia friendly community.


My real motivation comes from my Grandad who sadly passed away in 2014 following after living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease for nearly 10 years. I grew up in Kendal, in the Lake District living next door to my Nan and Grandad and enjoyed many great years working for my Grandad in his family-run paint and wallpaper shop. As my Grandad’s Dementia progressed, he, of course, needed support and care as he started to struggle with his normal daily routine, and unfortunately, although much of his care was excellent, this wasn’t always the case. I use this as my constant guide to the quality of care we provide our Clients – “Would it have been good enough for my Grandad?” The answer must always be yes.

“I have enjoyed working within the home care sector for over 25 years, starting my career as a CareGiver and progressing to become a Registered Manager.
My dad lived with dementia, so this is an area of care very close to my heart. My passion is to deliver the highest standard of care and support to people from all backgrounds who need help to remain in their own homes. Jo has a Level 5 Registered Managers Diploma.


I believe it’s important to always be learning and developing your skills and to ensure my team of amazing CareGivers have the skills, knowledge and support they need to provide outstanding care.


Outside of work I love being with my two daughters and my son. My nan is 103 and we have the best time together! I love anything to do with K-Pop, especially BTS and Stray Kids.


I am an avid reader and always have three or four books on the go at once. I love learning about other cultures, travelling and art.”

Karen Hayes-Brotherton

Karen has worked in Care for over 18 years, joined Right at Home in 2021, starting initially as a Caregiver. Karen then progressed to Senior Caregiver, then Team Leader and then Deputy Manager. She carries out Client assessments, Risk Assessments, Care Plans and supporting the Registered Manager and Office Team. Karen has successfully completed her Level 3 Health & Social Care Diploma.


I love working in Care and am happy knowing that I've helped someone to remain independent and to stay in their own home.


Karen lives with her husband, 3 children and she loves reading, has a love for animals and enjoys walking her 2 dogs.


Liz

Liz Jackson

Job Title: Administrator & Community Engagement

Liz joined Right at Home Mid Cheshire initially as a Caregiver after an extensive career within Health & Safety and the Police. She enjoyed the Care role so much that she progressed into the office team. Liz's responsibilities include, general office administration e.g. answering calls, taking Care enquiries, Care assessments, Care Plans and going out and engaging in the Community.


I have a degree in Health & Safety and love travelling, especially India.


I love working for Right at Home and get so much satisfaction from making a difference to our clients and their families.


Liz is a big movie fan, and loves history, particularly anything to do with the 2nd World War. Liz lives with her husband and teenage son and they have a dog called Bear. Liz's son is; World, European and British Champion in Karate and most of her spare time is spent taking him to training and competitions.


Bobbie-Ann

Bobbie-Ann Dunn

Job Title: Care Co-ordinator

Joined: 2022

Bobbie-Ann joined the Right at Home Mid Cheshire family in 2022 as a Caregiver to start with. She was promoted to Senior Caregiver in 2023 and then further promoted to Care-Co-ordinator. Her current role involves managing and organising the Clients/Caregivers Rota's, not an easy task at all, but she still attends calls, Caregiver supervisions and spot checks.


When not at work, Bobbie-Ann lives with her husband and is a devoted Mum to her 4 boys, who mean the world to her.

Sarah Lomas

Job Title: Compliance Co-Ordinator

Joined: 2023

My career in health and social care began in 2010 as a care assistant in the community. I instantly knew it was what I wanted to do and I was eager to learn and grow my experience to help more people.


I have worked in various settings such as complex healthcare, learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, respite care and residential. My true passion is community care, enabling people to remain in their own homes maintaining as much independence as possible. I returned to community care in 2018 as a team leader, and progressed to quality and compliance officer thereafter.


I am a dignity champion, enjoy solving problems and my focus means I have a keen eye for detail. I pride myself on delivering the highest quality of person centred care to all clients and that’s why I chose to work for Right at Home Mid Cheshire.


I live with my partner and son, and we have a little dog called Milly. We enjoy spending time with family and spending time outdoors together. In my free time I enjoy writing children’s short stories and currently have one being published.
