Visiting Angels has been supporting my dad’s care at home for the last six weeks. They have always been professional, friendly, kind, thoughtful and very patient, and nothing has been too much trouble for them. They have restored his confidence after a very traumatic experience with previous carers,
which left him very vulnerable and scared. They have been very flexible regarding his needs, and have supported and worked with my mum to manage the best care for him. They are quickly becoming like part of the family and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants to receive the best of care, delivered with compassion and humour and for that, we are very grateful!

My mother has excellent care provided by Visiting Angels. They are a high quality and extremely professional private care agency. All of my mother's complex needs are fulfilled to an exceptional standard and I'm always confident that she is receiving the very best care, especially when she is with her
personal assistant. I can't thank the staff involved with my mother's care enough, they truly are angels.

Visiting Angels has provided excellent care and support for my father in recent months. The team of carers are kind, compassionate and warm people who took time to build positive relationships with the family. They always listened to my father’s wishes as an individual and treated him with respect and
consideration at all times. I am also grateful for the kindness they showed to my mother and she felt well supported during the visits as well. The carers helped her through a difficult period when Dad was in hospital. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for professional private care.

My mum has been looked after by Visiting Angels for just over a year now. The caregivers work to a very high standard and always go the extra mile. The ladies are not only caregivers to my mum, but have become good friends to her. They have given her the ability to stay in her own home, which has had
a positive impact on her lifestyle. Using the angels has also had a huge positive impact on my life as I can continue with my busy schedule in the knowledge that my mum has a friendly face twice a day to help her with personal and practical needs. I would and have recommended the angels to friends and family. Thank you to everyone at Visiting Angels for your support.

It is a pleasure to support your mum to remain independent and stay at home, where we know people prefer to stay. It is also great to read we have helped you in a positive way and you have peace of mind your mum is looked after by caring professionals. Many thanks for the recommendations.

Over the last twelve months, I cannot remember any adverse experience in my wife's care and as her condition has deteriorated, I have had no hesitation in increasing the level of care. The fact that you can ring the office at any time on any day is a great comfort. Their recruitment process must be
extremely good as all the carers are excellent.

Reply from Andrew Lofts, Managing Director at Visiting Angels Burton and Derby

Thank you very much for your review. We are really pleased to hear we are always available to support you and your wife. Visiting Angels has provided care and support for my mother since the beginning of 2023. The appointment was viewed with some scepticism by my mother but the pre-start visits put her at ease and the subsequent levels of attention have been such that my mother now sees that the Visiting Angels team has
become an integral part of her ongoing support mechanism. Visiting Angels' carers help with getting her up in the morning, making her breakfast and an evening meal, assistance getting in and out of her shower and general companionship and conversation.

Reply from Andrew Lofts, Managing Director at Visiting Angels Burton and Derby

Hello Angus, thank you for your review. We are really pleased to know the initial scepticism has been replaced by valued support. This has been achieved through careful and professional support on the part of the management team and Angels supporting your mum.

I am happy because Mum is in safe hands. I live 400 miles away but that is less of a worry because the telephone care planning app allows me to access the carers' up-to-date, detailed visit notes at any time. In addition, the management team liaise with me whenever necessary via email or telephone and
their experience is invaluable. They are flexible about changes to cover at relatively short notice which has proved useful.
Mum's carers live up to their name. They are dedicated, cheery, hard-working, respectful and patient; I've got to know them during visits which gives me great peace of mind.

Dear Sue, thank you very much for all of your kind words. We are so pleased to hear the Angels are providing you with the reassurance that your mum is well cared for, the management team are responsive to your requests and the technology provides insights to your mum's daily care.

Had to take on a private care agent for my father. These folks have great reviews, but after talking to the managers we decided to use them. Their service and level of care could not be bettered. Fantastic people, all so helpful and friendly.
Highly recommended if you need private care at home.

Mom had a care package already through the local authority, but was very lonely at home and needed companionship. The Angels provided an excellent service of companionship and escorting out on trips locally for our mom who has dementia. The process was easy to set up and was always professional. The
Angels all had very high standards of care and made my mom feel at ease, at all times. The app was really helpful too, in keeping family informed of how things were going.
Sadly, Mom's needs became too high risk for her to remain at home and she has moved into a care home. This was the only reason we stopped using the Angels. Would recommend highly, to those seeking care/ companionship for their loved ones.

Thank you for these kind words. We thoroughly loved supporting your mum in her home. It is good to hear the care our Angels give, is to the highest standards, as expected by families.

If you are considering care for a loved one I can highly recommend this agency who went above and beyond with their caring role. My elderly aunt has both physical and mental health needs and finding the right care for her had been difficult, compounded by the fact that my aunt is fiercely independent
and would decline support. We had tried a couple of other agencies previously but with little success. Visiting Angels were fantastic in every aspect, from excellent communication, to delivering a high standard of care. Accessing the app was invaluable given there are no relatives and I do not live locally. As my aunt's needs changed rapidly, I was in regular contact with the agency and when one approach was unsuccessful another was adopted. Thank you, Visiting Angels for your true professionalism, kindness, dignity and importantly sense of humour that you have shown towards my aunt right up until she went into care, I know it was not an easy task and it is greatly appreciated.

Visiting Angels have been absolutely wonderful with Mum and so accommodating when her needs changed rapidly over a short period of time. All of the carers that we met had the same high standards and genuinely cared about Mum’s welfare. They were brilliant at liaising with the local surgery and other
NHS services on our behalf, which was so helpful. The app provided, meant that I was kept informed of Mum’s visits and outcomes on a daily basis, which I so appreciated, as I live quite a long way away. I really don’t know what we would have done without the Angels and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Reply from Andrew Lofts, Managing Director at Visiting Angels Burton and Derby

Thank you for your kind message, we really appreciate it. We always aim to provide the highest possible care and will always liaise with other health care professionals to make sure the care delivered is the most up-to-date. We loved looking after your mum and I am pleased to read the app provided you with the peace of mind necessary when living far away.

I have been receiving care since September 2021 with visits four times daily. They are definitely well-named as Visiting Angels. We have all developed an excellent relationship over the last five months in fact their care is first class. Initially, I was unsure how it would all work out but it soon
became clear and I was able to relax and treat them as friends. They have always treated me with respect and are now used to my sense of humour, thank goodness, so everything works well and we all have a good rapport with one another. I have recommended them to friends.

Visiting Angels have been caring for my mum for the last few months. From the initial telephone call onwards they have been amazing not only a comfort to mum but also to me. The management team have gone above and beyond to accommodate mum's needs as they change and become more demanding and the carers
truly are angels! They have taken the time to build a relationship with mum and my family and add a personal touch that offers reassurance and confidence that mum is being ‘cared for’, for example, playing her favourite music and giving her encouragement. Mum has dementia and is sometimes uncooperative but the angels have built such trust that she responds positively to their prompts. I live a distance away from my mum but can log in and read the reports daily and this reassures me that all is well. Communication between management, carers and myself is great and I know that someone is always there if needed. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Visiting Angels.

We could not fault the service we received from the Visiting Angels for our father. From the very first phone conversation, we were reassured that the service to be provided would be tailored to meet our and our father’s needs. That initial conversation explained the high standards, qualities and requirements
their staff must meet to be able to provide the expected high level of care. The next step was for us and our father to meet with a care manager to go through our father's needs to develop, produce and agree on a care plan. We (and our father) were happy with everything we had heard and been demonstrated. The care started almost immediately and the staff always arrived within the agreed times and the level of care exceeded all our expectations, there were daily reports of what our father had eaten, drank, medication taken, toilet activities, mood etc. Any concerns were raised in a timely manner and nothing was too much trouble. We are confident our father received the very best care.

We sourced care from Visiting Angels for Mother who was finding it increasingly difficult to live independently at home. The professional manner in which she was looked after was excellent and she struck up a close relationship with the carer for which we are grateful.
Sadly Mum suffered a nasty fall
after only a short time of receiving care and was admitted to hospital. At discharge, she was found respite care in a suitable nursing home but sadly deteriorated to such an extent that this has become permanent for her.
We have no hesitation in recommending Visiting Angels to anyone looking for professional, compassionate care in the future.

My Uncle has needed a care package for some time but has resisted, not wanting people in his house, so his situation just got worse until he was safeguarded into hospital and had to reluctantly accept help to go home. Visiting Angels came to access him and could not have been kinder. He is treated with
respect all the time and looks so much better, his personal care is done with dignity, although he resists changing his clothes he now does and the whole house has a much better feel, making it more of a pleasure to visit rather than a chore. A friend popped in with a Christmas card yesterday, she hadn’t seen him for many months and was over the moon to see how well he looks. Thank you Angels.

Without Visiting Angels, I’m not quite sure what we would have done. They provided Mum with wonderful care, dignity and respect at a very difficult time in our lives. Mum’s dementia at bedtime could be challenging but this was met with care, great patience and humour from the whole team. Scheduled times
were always adhered to throughout the day. I would have no hesitation in recommending Visiting Angels to families looking for care for a loved one.

Hi, I'm Ashleigh! I started my career in care over 11 years ago and have never looked back. I have experienced highs and lows in this sector but this has made me the person I am today. I always strive to go above and beyond and I'm not afraid to admit I am a bit of a perfectionist.

I want to empower our angels to be the best they can be and deliver excellent quality care and support. I use my knowledge, experience and abilities to train and maintain staff by promoting carer centricity along with exceptional support and maintaining high standards.

My ongoing aim is to support our angels to grow their wings brighter and stronger whilst supporting them to deliver all-around person-centred care. Care is not just a job, it's a journey! A journey we want to help our angels grow in and feel satisfaction for the work and support they give to our amazing clients.

Job Title: Care Team Leader

I began working in the care sector at the age of 17, while studying Child Care at College, I started working part-time in a Nursing Home close to where I live. I stayed for a few years alongside my studies, and when I qualified, I started working in a children's nursery and eventually became Room Leader for the baby unit.

As years passed, I decided to try Domiciliary Care and got a job within a company where I slowly made my way up to the Care Co-ordinator role. I spent many happy years there liaising with social workers and families of the clients we delivered care to.

During my career I have worked in several establishments gaining experience along the way, I have been a private nanny for a family who looked after me well and I accompanied them on their family holidays and would also do some extra babysitting for them a few evenings a week, again I spent many happy years with them up to the point the children were starting school. I have also supported young people with complex needs, but after having my own children, I felt I couldn’t carry out my role to support children with complex needs on a part-time basis and needed something more flexible to work around my children, which led me to Visiting Angels.

I started my VA journey as a Caregiver during the month of November 2020 the year Visiting Angels opened their doors, and now have worked my way up to being a Care Team Leader. I am currently learning my new role and I hope to gain more experience along the way. I enjoy aiding people and maintaining their independence in their own homes all whilst delivering the best possible care.
