Home Instead South Ayrshire and Kilmarnock is a local award-winning private home care agency based in Ayr.

This office covers the main localities in South Ayrshire and East Ayrshire including Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Stewarton, Turnberry and Kilmarnock.

Their hand-picked and specially trained CAREGivers pride themselves on delivering only the highest standards of care for clients in their own homes. The team is made up of local people who know and understand the area and the local community. CAREGivers support older people so that they are able to stay in their own homes and live independently for longer - in a happy safe and secure manner.

Why is Home Instead unique?

- Minimum of a one hour call to 24/7 care. Staff do not believe proper care can be provided with '15 minute calls'.

- The service matches the client with the CAREGivers so that wherever possible the same CAREGiving team sees the same client at the same time each day.

- The service is extremely fussy about who is employed and takes up six references plus enhanced police checks.

- The service specialises in dementia care and live in care.

Services include companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, transportation and specialist dementia support.

Staff at Home Instead regard it as a special privilege to look after people with varying needs and conditions, with compassion and empathy.

They provide the full range of homecare services and clients range from those receiving two hours of housekeeping help a week to those who receive 24-hour specialist dementia support. Others may only require help during a family break, respite period or during a palliative period.

We have had brilliant service and support from the Home Instead Ayr team now for over 18 months. They are perceptive, responsive, caring and helpful. Navigating this difficult transition through support to full caregiving, they have been very helpful indeed. There are also specific carers that go above
and beyond, building close and trusting relationships. The continuity of caregivers can be a challenge as staff come and go but Home Instead seem to be better at retention of staff than most, this is a challenge for the sector. All in all, they have made it possible to remain at home receiving care and support, we are all very grateful we started with them and continue to work with them.

Our father was Mr independent and resisted help from anyone other than family until he met his two carers from Home Instead. They made his lunch the way he liked it, listened patiently to his stories and cheerfully kept his house (and him) neat and tidy. My sister and I used the app for updates, leaving
Dad with the feeling of independence he valued so much.

My mother, 91 years old and with restricted mobility, has been using the service for two or three weeks now. She has two regular carers who, between them, visit four times a week. Both of them are efficient, professional and very competent. They are also friendly and good company for my mother. They
are interesting people and provide good conversation for my mother who can no longer get out and about on her own. My mum was a little wary at first but now is very pleased with their help.

My dad used Home Instead carers prior to going into a care home. The carers were excellent, gave my dad some company, did housework and would happily take him for his weekly shopping. Home Instead were excellent and very helpful when my dad was admitted to hospital. The manager was very helpful, let
us know prices and services and she and other staff genuinely seemed to care about Dad and what was in the best interests of him. Thank you.

Home Instead provides great care for my mother. It gives the family peace of mind to know that her needs are being met and that she can continue to live in the house that she and my dad built in the 1960s. All the caregivers are wonderful people, and the mental stimulation of a chat about all kinds
of subjects has been beneficial for Mum's dementia. Knowing that she is being fed good food, getting bathed on a regular basis and being assisted with laundry and housework takes the pressure off the family. As a dementia patient, things have to go at Mum's pace, and the Home Instead caregivers have the time to see to her needs.

My brother and I recently arranged for Home Instead to provide support to my elderly parents. We have been impressed by their very thorough and professional approach to identifying the requirements of our parents and matching the most appropriate staff to look after our parents.
The service and support
provided to date have been excellent and the staff have all been very caring, friendly and reliable. There seems to be good supervision of the team, and the mobile app is very helpful in providing reassurance (when you do not live close by) that everything is okay.
We would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead South to anyone with elderly parents who need assistance.

Home Instead have offered my sister and I peace of mind with the care they have provided for our mother. Neither of us live in the UK and Home Instead management has accommodated all our requests to enable our mother to remain in her home presently and be cared for as needed. Knowing that they are a

The care my Dad has received from the Home Instead carer had been fantastic. Right from the start , they listened carefully. to what we needed for Dad and selected a carer for him. She is wonderful with him and I know he is in safe hands. It’s so good, we have increased the number of visits and time
they spend with him. Well worth the additional expense. Everyone I have dealt is friendly and eager to help. There are great to deal with.

Very caring service provided by everyone involved in Mum's care. Home Instead helped our family at a time which was very difficult and provided reassurance to all. The dignified treatment of mum was very much appreciated. Over a very short period, Mum looked forward to her visits and valued the company
and help given. Unfortunately Mum has not been able to stay at home however I would have no reservations in recommending Home Instead.

The carers provided by Home Instead have established an excellent relationship with me and, most importantly, my mother. She welcomes and enjoys their visits and derives benefits from them in terms of her continuing healthy living and also in terms of companionship. The carers are extremely reliable,
always attending as arranged. And when they are with us, they demonstrate the highest professional standards while also maintaining good interpersonal relationships. My mother and the rest of the family are delighted with the service we are receiving from Home Instead carers and we plan to continue working with them in the future. I should also add that the staff in the office, when contacted, are also both very professional and also very accommodating as our requirements change over time.

Very warm and friendly caregivers who were very attentive to not only my father but also good company to my mother. The office was always quick to respond and managers went out of their way to help. So pleased with the care they provided for our precious family members .
