We have had a great experience overall. The initial advice and support were very helpful in figuring out the best options for care for my mum. It was our first time to utilise such a service so we were a bit nervous but the staff were wonderful at putting our minds at rest. My mum's live in carer for
2 months was perfect and the staff worked hard to make sure we were comfortable it was a good match before we begun. It has all worked out well and our carer has been kind, compassionate, cheerful and communicative. We would recommend the service to others. This kind of care is expensive but I did a lot of homework and its comparable and on par to other companies with similar standards. We will be using them again next time we need to. Thankyou!

We started using this company in August 2024 and have been very pleased with the support they have given to us.
The care given to my husband is excellent. The carers are always on time and give him their full attention while they are here. They also cheer me up! I was able to leave my husband with
a live in carer for a two week holiday with my family, confident that he would be well looked after, he was.
The office always informs me of any changes to scheduled times and I am never left without a carer.

I would like to praise highly the care that Mum has received from the lovely ladies that go to visit mum and the care they provide. Things that stand out are their tactful encouragement on her having a shower, when mum tries to abstain. Their acceptance on Mum not wanting a certain carer and Home Instead
fulfilling her wishes with no argument (there was nothing wrong with this particular carer, but 90 year olds can be fickle). The manager arranging an extra shift at short notice, carers taking Mum to an appointment and always being there at the end of the telephone. The carers are happy to wash her clothes and bed linen, vacuuming, cooking her lunch, give her her medication, wash and shower mum, communicating with me via a write on/wipe off board. I have learnt a lot from them about what works and what doesn't for Mum, i.e. incontinence problems in bed, from the carers. A carer recommended a certain product which leads me to say one thing is to talk to the carers yourself. Bravo!

Home Instead have been amazing in the care they provide for my grandad with dementia. They are patient, they listen to him and help to take the stress off of my Nan being his sole carer. They are as much a support for her as they are for him. Cannot fault them at all.

Dad needed help with taking his medication on time and help in the house after becoming a widow. It's been a difficult time for him while he adjusts to living alone and the Home Instead team have been very helpful and kind and gentle with Dad while he adjusts to being looked after by their team. I
am happy with and confident in their care for Dad and this gives me peace of mind and alleviates some of the stress and worry of looking after an elderly and frail parent.

Mum suffered a fall, we needed extra help to assist with making sure Mum was supported, we had 3 different care staff visiting Mum who were exceptionally kind, caring and attentive to our mum's needs and requirements.
We only needed the help for a relatively short time but we would not hesitate to
reach out to them again should we need their help in the future, reliable, caring, approachable and very friendly service from all we dealt with. Thank you.

I contacted Home Instead on the Sunday of the May Bank Holiday weekend. The phone was answered immediately and I explained our urgent need for help with my dad as my mum had been admitted to hospital. I was asked for details and to ring back within the hour. An assessment visit was put in place for
that same afternoon and it was also arranged for my dad to meet the carer who would be coming before the start of care which reassured him. Care began less than 24 hours after my initial contact and on a Bank Holiday Monday!
All staff from the agency have been professional, kind and hard-working. I cannot recommend Home Instead highly enough, they really pulled out all the stops and provided a high level of care and support.

Our independent 97-year-old grandmother became unwell in January 2024. Despite wishing to remain independent, her sudden deterioration in health made this impossible. We contacted Home instead who visited our grandmother to assess her needs. We initially commenced a package of care consisting of 3
visits per day. This was reduced to daily in accordance with our grandmother's needs and wishes. Within weeks, Nan was nearing the end of her life. Home instead went above and beyond to ensure that not only our grandmother's needs were met, but that our family were ok too. The Home Instead team have been incredible. They provided us with kindness and reassurance at all times. The online app enabled us to read the daily entries in Nan's notes which was extremely beneficial on the days that we were unable to visit Nan. We would highly recommend Home Instead. They provided exceptional care, companionship, and peace of mind and we would most definitely use them again in the future.

Had a great experience with this service, we only used it for a short while as we got our loved one into a residential home - but felt the team were flexible, accessible and accommodating of our needs - they made helpful suggestions and the girls who visited friendly and we felt safe leaving our loved
one in their care given they could be difficult - we only used the service for keeping our loved one safe and for company but I’m confident of their professionalism and ability to have provided more had we needed it - I would recommend their service based on our experience.

We had a recommendation from a family work colleague suggesting we contact Home Instead to care for my mother as her health deteriorated. I must say from the very first assessment visit we were all very impressed. Karina, who made the assessment, came across as a highly professional and caring person.
Her medical and care knowledge was exceptional; she answered all our questions clearly and concisely. From that point, we knew that Home Instead was the perfect choice.
To our astonishment, a care package was in place by the following day, though during those early days, my mother's health improved; meaning the care package needed amendment. Once again the changes were made extremely quickly and without any fuss.
As my mother approached ‘end of life’ the manager and her team were there to offer as much support as my mother and the rest of the family needed. For which we are most grateful.
Special praise must go to one staff member in particular, who attended during the final days, and at her death; incredibly caring.

All carers who visited my mother treated her with dignity and respect, very supportive of her when she tried to regain her independence, As sh. became less mobile she enjoyed the interaction. Home Instead have been invaluable to my mum being able to stay at home and more recently her recovery after coming out of hospital.
Mum enjoyed all her visits from her care team and built some good friendships. Mum would often tell me how happy she was with the lovely ladies who visited and how much
she enjoyed her outings with them.
After Mum came out of hospital she needed full-time care. The manager has been amazing, always supportive, listening to our needs and tailoring the care accordingly.
Live-in care was put in place as soon as Mum was out of hospital. The lovely lady who lives with Mum has been wonderful. With her care, warmth, humour and understanding Mum has been getting better and stronger.
My family especially my mum, sister and myself are so grateful for all that Homeinstead have done.

My name is Karina and I am the Care Manager here at Home Instead Medway.


I got into care by chance. I had volunteered my nail technician services at a local day centre for the elderly one summer, I enjoyed it so much I had a complete career change and became a full-time CAREGiver. With hard work and dedication and most importantly the passion to deliver high-quality care, over the years my career in health and social care blossomed.


I have worked as a CAREGiver, senior CAREGiver and as Deputy Manager in a residential home for many years. I took a break in my career for a couple of months in 2021 after working tirelessly throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.


I then discovered Home Instead Medway and it just felt right! It was delightful to hear the company has such fantastic values. Home Instead Values are aimed at delivering High-quality person-centred care that is relationship-led with focus of continuity of care with the client in the middle. CAREGivers are not rushed and have enough time to offer truly person-centred care and for example, all calls are a minimum of an hour long. All of this really resonated with me and clearly sets Home Instead apart from its competitors.
