b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.657 for Helping Hands Home Care (Chesterfield) is calculated as follows: ( (23 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.657
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Helping Hands Home Care (Chesterfield) is based on 6 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 = 4.6

Job Title: Branch Care Manager
About me
I am the registered Manager responsible for the day-to-day running of the branch and everything in between. I meet with clients and look at what support is needed, tailoring their requirements specifically to meet their individual needs; ensuring the standards are maintained and met with regular reviews and contact. I practise the values of Helping Hands and lead my team to embody them in our delivery.
I ensure the recruitment and retention of staff with whom myself and my team show a regular presence and are easily accessible thus enabling us to support them every step of the way.
My mother worked in care and seeing how much she enjoyed her role and the satisfaction she got led me to follow in her footsteps.
I believe that Helping Hands truly care about not just the clients but the staff. The idea of ‘Kindness’ to our wonderful teams of carers as well as clients is one of my top priorities to maintain a happy working environment.
In my spare time, I walk my dogs, spend time with my family and enjoy time away at my caravan by the sea. I am also a qualified trampoline trainer.
Experience and expertise
I have worked within the care sector since I was 18, I worked for many local authorities as I was a forced wife and moved counties. I have worked in mental health, learning disabilities and domiciliary care at all levels with my expertise being with the elderly and providing quality services.
I joined care in 1986 when I was 18 years old and have been in this sector for 35 years.
Within the care sector, I have been a home help, support worker, carer, service organiser, team manager, and service manager this leading on to being a registered manager for an organisation in Derbyshire until I joined Helping Hands in April 2021to become a registered branch manager.
Why I chose Helping Hands
I chose Helping Hands whilst browsing the website and being struck by the featured comment ‘With a helping hand life is better at home', for their long-standing commitment to compassion and care which then shone through as I worked my way through the site. It felt like ‘Home’.
I am looking forward to delivering quality services in a timely fashion and a happy workforce within our sector where we are known with a reputation that shines above all.
I enjoy the ‘from the ground up’ challenge, I love meeting new people and being able to give comfort and tailoring the needs of the individual and ensuring that the staff are recognised, and I am able to say ‘Thank you in a way that means something to them.
