These comments are a highly personal opinion based on unknown facts with slanderous comments, the client has not yet paid for any care and expects more care for free.
Details of the hours of care provided were offered to the client but they refused them, unwilling to acknowledge that more care had been provided and continued to demand more care be given, although the agreed term had been completed. Their behaviour and language were unacceptable and the telephone conversation had to end.
Rotas are sent to advise who will be attending this short-term care of 8 calls, the client did not allow the carer in for one call, which they were subsequently credited, in good faith. The carer was still paid for the call, due to the client not allowing the call they should have been charged for.
Additional calls were organised to replace that call.

Thank you for your comments, we would like to stress that the care was provided within the information provided by the family, and notification was sent in a timely and contractual manner to ensure care could be sought elsewhere. However, we were unable to continue care due to the unrealistic expectations of the service user's family member and their behaviour towards our carers and staff. To have to end care, is disappointing, for all concerned but in this instance, we had no other option, after receiving reports from our carers, whose opinions we value greatly.

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.104 for Visiting Angels Doncaster & Bassetlaw is calculated as follows: ( (31 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.104
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)
The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Visiting Angels Doncaster & Bassetlaw is based on 6 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 = 4.6

If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

As a mum with a disabled child, I understand what it is like to personally care for a loved one 24/7, and how hard it can be to ask for help.
The case is the same for anyone who has to support and care for a parent or loved one, they rely on you and you do not want to let them down. This situation is something that you can never be prepared for and can be quite a daunting task finding where to go and who to talk to for good quality care.
I want to give people in that position the chance to talk to us, we will listen and provide quality care for their loved ones, and some well-earned respite.

Hi, I’m Kelly Grange Smith, and I’ve had the absolute privilege of working as the Registered Care Manager for Visiting Angels Doncaster & Bassetlaw for the past two years.
Working in home care isn’t just a job for me—it’s a passion. Every day, I get to support individuals in the comfort of their own homes, helping them live with dignity, independence, and a sense of safety. There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing you’ve made someone’s day a little brighter or a little easier.
I feel incredibly lucky to lead a team of compassionate, dedicated carers who go above and beyond for our clients. Together, we’re not just providing care—we’re building trusted relationships and bringing comfort to families across our community.
And now, I’m truly honoured to share some exciting news—I’ve been awarded Registered Care Manager of the Year for Home Care in Lincolnshire! To be recognised in this way means the world to me. It’s a reflection of the amazing people I work with every day and the values we all share at Visiting Angels.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported me on this journey. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
