Twice weekly befriending service provided for dad who has dementia. We used Home Instead for around 2 years until dad moved to care home. It was important for him to have a friendly face visit and take him out to combat loneliness and just improve quality of life. The befriender was fabulous, very upbeat
and almost always the same person visited. Good udpates provided on how dad had been throughout the visits. Regular contact from the admin/management team to review needs.

All the care staff involved have dealt professionally and respectfully with the needs of my frail and elderly mother. They have always been helpful and attentive to the needs of my mother and have kept me updated on any issues which have arisen in my absence.

Home Instead offer an amazing service of care. They are responsive, kind, and they always take into account what the client wants. However they also help to suggest and initiate activities and really offer high-quality companion care. They log visits with helpful info so I can see from a distance if
there are any concerns.

I cannot praise Mum's carer highly enough. She is the kindest, considerate and gentle girl, who makes my mum laugh. I completely trust her to come into our home and look after Mum, as I know she genuinely cares. Always on time and never rushed away, takes the time to update me on my mum and what they
have been doing. Mum looks forward to her visits and trips to the garden centre, as her carer always has a smile and time to listen and mate Mum feel like 20 again.

My elderly aunt has been looked after by Home Instead since 2018 with 4 visits per day. I live in Cambridgeshire so not exactly on the doorstep should there be an urgent need and I've found the staff and management superb in their care and provide me with regular updates of her condition. On the occasion
of an emergency have gone out their way to be supportive and kept me abreast of events. Their service to my aunt is well respected by her, myself, and the wider family and I would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Approximately one year ago we arranged a "buddy" service for my husband, who has dementia, with Home Instead. From day one our request has been handled in a friendly and proficient manner. Originally the buddy called once a week which has now been increased to twice a week. Our buddy has been a first-class
success both to my husband and to myself. My husband is so relaxed with his buddy who takes him for walks and plays dominoes and have coffee together. This gives me a little time to plan a relaxing few hours with friends, although we concentrate on the walk and coffee and maybe a little gossip.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead to anyone looking for assistance of any type for a loved one.

I contacted Home Instead as the council was not able to provide personal care for my daughter.
I was so happy from the first phone call as they were so keen to provide this service.
We had an initial meeting to discuss my daughter's needs and everything was put in place very quickly.
The quality
of carers provided was exceptional. Always on time and a smile every time they turn up.
My daughter really is at ease and looks forward to them coming. I would recommend them to anyone. First class.

Home Instead have been providing companionship care for my mum for around 6 months. The carer paired with my mum was ideal and she quickly developed a good rapport with my mum who now looks forward to her visits. Our needs have varied month to month and Home Instead have been excellent at meeting our
changing requests as well as offering advice and support. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for care services.

Seeking home care for a loved relative is such a difficult task, until you have to do this you have no idea how challenging it is. We were so fortunate that Home Instead responded to our request for help and as a family we have been delighted with the service for the past 4 months. From the start it
was clear that they knew what they were doing, excellent communication and explanation of the services on offer. They have been very responsive to our changing requirements and have adapted the service based on individual needs. All the carers are well trained and actually care for the person they are looking after. Being able to contact someone who understands is really important, overall we cannot fault this service. In January 2022 we were first introduced to Home Instead. After struggling for years to cope with my husband's Alzheimer's diagnosis. What a difference Home Instaed carers have made for us both. Care is first class not only well matched to their client's needs but for family needs as well, understanding
issues associated with whatever illness they are dealing with and for the 2 hours respite, five days a week and my sanity.

My elderly, frail sister has been under the care of Home Instead since 2018. She receives three, one hourly, visits daily, thus enabling her to live in her own flat rather than a nursing home which she did not want.
The management team is efficient and reliable never once letting her down throughout
covid and wintry weather. They use the latest technology to inform me of my sister's daily health via an app.
The nursing staff are knowledgeable about elderly care and are readily available over concerns.
The carers who are responsible for my sister's daily care are well trained, conscientious and compassionate. They genuinely care about my sister and have built a great relationship with not only her but me as her main relative.

Home Instead has been supporting my mum for over two years now. As Mum's condition has deteriorated over that time, the support and care have increased. I must congratulate Home Instead on the calibre of their staff. Every one of the ladies who I have met and who visit Mum is very professional. They
are kind, friendly, approachable and very caring. I really don't know what Mum would do without them. I live abroad, and knowing how well the ladies look after Mum is a huge relief to me. The communication from the Home Instead team is excellent, and if I raise any concerns with them, they are immediately addressed. Mum is very fond of her regular ladies. Well done, Home Instead.

After using Home Instead for 8 months and with my mother in an "end of life" condition, Home Instead chose to abruptly withdraw their services without notice. We were told that this was due to the fact that we did not have an adjustable medical bed. Following a complaint, to the care manager, the following
day Home Instead indicated that service could be re-instated if we rented a medical bed and had two carers three times a day, instead of one three times per day at a cost 2.5xs what we had been paying to date. This included renting a medical bed. My mother passed two days later in the care of family members. We feel extremely disappointed with the manner in which Home Instead withdrew their services. The situation placed the family in an impossible position during, what was already a very stressful time. It is important to note that this was not the carers' fault who attended my mother but Home Instead's senior management.

I realise that this is a very difficult time for the family with the passing of your mother and there is a lot of emotion in the review. Whilst I am respectful of your feelings I also feel that I need to provide details that are missing. After a fall our carer advised us that your mum's mobility had changed. Our Care Manager carried out a Risk Assessment on the Moving & Handling and deemed that it was no longer safe to move your mum with 1 carer. We informed you we would require 2 carers and a hospital bed and we found a supplier and could get one the next day. We confirmed we could resume support the next day with the bed and with 2 carers. I do acknowledge that this doubled your cost and an additional cost for the hospital bed but we could not legally or safely support your mum without it. At this point, you cancelled the service due to excessive cost which I also understand. We did not abruptly withdraw our service we found a safe solution but at a cost that was not acceptable to the family.
