b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

Job Title: Care Coordinator Newport
Joined: 2019
I’m the Co-Ordinator for our Newport service. I started with ND care and support back in 2019 as a care worker. I progressed to a Field Care Supervisor in 2020 working mainly in the community. I really enjoyed this role as it allowed me to meet individuals with a multitude of needs unique to them. This provided me with a holistic view which enabled me to create person-centred care plans. I am now the Care Co-Ordinator for Newport and I’m looking forward to growing this service with a strong team of carers with me.
Job Title: Field Care Supervisor
Joined: 2024
Hi, I’ve come into my new role as a field care supervisor after 19 years of working within the mental health sector and with children who have complex needs. I have worked in community housing right up to working in secure units, I have also worked within the community doing domiciliary care and providing respite for children. I hold my QCF level 3 in health and social care.
Job Title: Business Development Manager
Joined: 2023
I’m Elen Searle and I’m the Business Development & Recruitment Manager for ND Care & Support.
I first worked for New Directions over 20 years ago! I joined as a Bilingual administrator for the Education department, before being asked to support the set-up of the Social Care department. Seeing the different care roles on offer seriously piqued my interest in working in the sector. With no previous experience, I got my first care job as a Support Worker working with Adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in a Supported Living setting. I loved this job and the people I was supporting and decided to self-fund an evening college course, achieving my Diploma in Care & Welfare Studies a year later. I also completed my NVQ level 2 in Care. Wanting to experience a different role, I then worked for Cardiff County Council Day Services, supporting Adults with learning and/or physical disabilities to complete community activities. I predominantly worked with a young man who was blind as we both spoke Welsh. My last full-time role providing care was as a Shift Leader at a college for children and young adults with Autism supporting them in both educational and residential settings.
I then returned to New Directions, working for the Pharmacy department in a sales role, a complete career change! I continued doing a regular community support shift one evening a week, supporting a young man with autism and continued this for a few years as I enjoyed the role so much.
Having run the Pharmacy locum business at New Directions for eight years and completing my ILM level 5 in Leadership and Management during this time, I left the company to seek a new opportunity and challenge. I worked with a new business which presented lots of new challenges, but I was made redundant after a year.
This presented me with an opportunity to return to the company and work for ND Care & Support as a Business Development Manager, promoting their Private Care Services. Since returning in May 2023, I now also manage the Recruitment team. I absolutely love the variation of my role, and most importantly, while I’m not providing care directly, I get a huge amount of satisfaction from knowing that my role contributes to ensuring that people receive the care they require through the staff we provide. This makes me enjoy my job even more!
Personally, I love watching sports, running, and socialising! Rugby is my number one sport, followed closely by Formula 1, cricket and any other sport Wales are playing! I love going out with friends, spending time with family, and going on holiday or exploring our beautiful countryside.
Job Title: Recruitment Resourcer
Joined: 2024
I became a domiciliary carer when I was 19 years old, and from then I worked as a support worker for almost 10 years, I then progressed to admin assistant and then to a recruitment consultant.
The best part of my job is seeing all the successful candidates start their journey in care and becoming amazing care and support workers.
When I am not working, I enjoy working out at the gym, keeping fit and healthy. I also like to make wax melts in my spare time.
