The team at Alcedo Care Trafford aim to support and empower people to live fulfilling and active lives and to remain living independently in their own homes.

The team consists of over 40 compassionate and professional carers provide an excellent value for money home care service. Along with the Management Team, they use technology to keep clients and their loved ones informed and give them real time access to care records and daily logs as and when they choose.
Alcedo Care takes a lot of time matching clients with carers; it’s very important to them that this match is right in order to create trusting relationships and provide the best possible care for each client. They aim to give each client a small circle of carers that they see regularly and get to know well.

Each client has their own specific needs and the process of creating their care plan reflects this. Together with the client, their loved ones and any relevant healthcare professionals, the unique, person-centred care plan is created and regularly reviewed to ensure that the support is up-to-date.

We asked Alcedo Trafford to supply a care package for our elderly father. The staff were initially friendly and helpful but all that changed when we noticed discrepancies between the care reports and invoices. Our queries were met with avoidance and silence. When we eventually received a response Alcedo
insisted on billing us for visits even though there was no proof that they had taken place. When we refused to pay for undocumented visits, Alcedo terminated the contract.
Being so utterly disappointed with the way our concerns were dealt with, we reported our experience to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We have found Alcedo to be a company who prioritises financial gain over care and accountability. When they lost our trust, it raised serious concerns over the welfare of our father. We feel it is our duty to highlight our experience and needless to say, we would not recommend this company to anyone.

Thank you for your feedback. To ensure a clear and fair representation of the care and service we provide we note we have been caring for your father since November 2023 without any previous concerns about care quality. The issues raised appear to stem from a dispute over care costs which was not upheld. All visits are recorded through our electronic system, and a thorough investigation was conducted into your concerns, with a detailed response sent to you. We did not receive any follow-up communication to address further queries. The termination of the care package followed all steps to resolve the matter and was in line with our terms of service. The claim that we prioritise financial gain over care is false; we are committed to delivering high-quality care. While we're not financially motivated, we must charge for care to sustain our service and pay our carers. We pride ourselves on building strong client relationships and would welcome further discussion to address any concerns.

My mother was supported by carers from Alcedo Care. The ladies who came to visit my mum were so understanding and spent the full time supporting my mum with personal care and administering medication and meals. When they had finished supporting her physically, they would spend any extra time having
chats with her. They were all truly amazing.

My child has been receiving care from Alcedo Care, and it has been one of the best care companies. The staff have been ever so understanding and patient with my son when providing care. The office staff have been very helpful with the times of visits and any concerns or enquiries I had. The nursing
teams are excellent and deserve more recognition for their hard work as well as everyone that is involved in my son's care.

The level of care received for my auntie was amazing. Every need was treated with impeccable care and the staff were always so helpful. The office staff were always up to date with their care facilities and always adapted to provide the most sufficient care for my auntie. She always feels respected
and valued when cared for and I couldn't appreciate the company more.

Alcedo has gone above and beyond to care for my son, especially after an incident that happened and have made changes throughout the company to ensure they're not repeated. Besides this particular carer I cannot fault any we have had.
They're all lovely and more than capable of caring for my son and
I am very happy with the service.
The only issue sometimes is lack of communication but this is improving.

Alcedo Care supports my dad with social activities a few times a week. The carers that attend from the Trafford branch have been amazing with him. They take him to different places and keep him occupied. They distract him in a positive manner when he is feeling low. Honestly, I am amazed by the fantastic
work they do.

Alcedo are working closely with client and ourselves to set up discharge team for the community.
It is a complex process due to large number on the team and requirements of the hospital.
The team are communicating well with client, client partner and hospital team.
They are working really hard to
achieve discharge requirements.

My experience with Alcedo Care was good for taking care of my daughter. Their team was listening to my daughter's needs and they were happy to find the best person to take care of my daughter. The main impression about their services is they keep an eye on their staff and always train them to do their
best.

We have been very pleased with the care our child has received from Alcedo. They took the time to engage in thorough training for his condition and they ensured all staff that work with him had met him and begun to build a relationship with him before they took him out of the home. The staff I have
met genuinely seem to care for him and want to give him positive experiences. The management staff are very responsive to emails and phone calls and flexible in the support they provide. I would definitely recommend Alcedo to others.

Carers try their best with my mum, who, unfortunately, due to Alzheimer's, isn't the easiest client at times.
They generally place their daily reports on the app, which is helpful, and on the rare occasion they are running late, they will ring me to tell me.

Jane

Jane Williamson

Job Title: Group Head of Operations

My name is Jane and I am the Group Head of Operations at Alcedo Care.

With over 20 years of experience in Operations, spanning both commercial enterprises and the healthcare sector, I was immediately drawn to Alcedo Care after meeting its Directors, Jo and Andy.

The company's strong reputation, unwavering focus on delivering outstanding care, and genuine investment in its staff made it an exciting opportunity. I was particularly inspired by Alcedo Care's commitment to its core values, its family-like culture, and ambitious growth plans. The diverse range of services, including children's care, nursing, and various domiciliary and complex care packages, further confirmed that this was the right organisation for me.

My career initially began in a very different field—Marine Biology. I studied at the University of St. Andrews, conducted research at the North American Arctic Research Center, and even spent a summer on a small island in the Bristol Channel. Along the way, I gained some unique skills, from driving tractors to caring for rescued seal pups.

Transitioning into Operations across various commercial industries provided me with a deep understanding of operational management, including overseeing global exhibition projects for major brands. However, as my priorities shifted, particularly with my daughters growing up, I felt drawn to the care sector. That decision changed everything—I found a true passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives through my work.

My extensive experience in both commercial and healthcare settings has equipped me with a well-rounded skill set, helping me navigate operational challenges and ensure seamless service delivery. What truly motivates me is ensuring that our dedicated staff feel valued, supported, and engaged, so they can provide the best personalised care for those we support.

As the Group Head of Operations, my focus is on driving operational excellence, identifying areas for improvement, ensuring the highest quality standards, and supporting the continued growth of our services. My ultimate goal is to create an environment where both our clients and staff feel valued, supported, and confident in the care we provide.

I am proud to be part of the Alcedo Care family and excited to contribute to its ongoing success. Together, we are committed to enriching lives, empowering individuals, and making a real difference in the communities we serve.
