My name is Lucy Deighton and I am proud to be the Operations Manager for Alcedo Care Southport/Preston/North Liverpool & Sefton/South Liverpool and Live-in Care England & Wales.


I have over 10 years of experience in the health and social care sector, starting as a home carer. My career in healthcare started off in college, studying for a Health and Social Diploma and working for a local home care agency within Southport. Once I completed my diploma, I then studied at the University of Central Lancashire where I successfully graduated from university with a health and social degree. Whilst I was studying, I worked within a local care home and worked up to become a Deputy Manager. I enjoyed this role however after 2 years, I decided I wanted to move back to home care services and further my knowledge. I was a care coordinator for a local homecare provider within the Southport area, coordinating a team of 50+ staff members and over 2000 hours of care a week.


Whilst co-ordinating I studied further and I successfully passed my QCF Level 5 NVQ in Leadership Management for Health and Social care for adults and children. Following my achievement, I wanted to put all my new knowledge into practice and am fortunately now the Operations Manager of Alcedo Care Southport/Preston/North Liverpool & Sefton/South Liverpool and Live-in Care England & Wales.


Throughout my career, I have always challenged myself to find ways to support and enable those in my care provision to receive the best possible care and support, by working with all multi-disciplinary healthcare teams and of course, my team of staff by ensuring they are well trained, organised, and professional. My role is to ensure all clients’ needs are met every day to the highest possible level.

Job Title: Area Manager

Hi, I'm Laura and I'm the Area Manager at Alcedo Care Ormskirk.


I started my career in the Health and Wellness industry which was followed by a transition into Security where I found myself covering a magnitude of sectors in a very fast-paced industry. Whilst many of the times were thrilling and challenging, I really enjoyed my time spent working within the operations as a Regional Business Manager where I spent 7 years learning all about each sector and how we could really make a difference. I loved my time working with Housing Associations where we supported disadvantaged individuals, rehabilitating them back into society.


Through curiosity, I believed it was time for a new challenge and that's when Alcedo Care became a part of my career! I started as Deputy Manager in our Southport branch and am so proud of the company and the support they have provided me.


My role is hugely rewarding, and I love supporting my great team to deliver exceptional care to every single client.


I am very passionate about supporting, coaching, and developing the team so they can achieve all they hope for.


Providing care to a diverse client base and working alongside exceptional people is what motivates me to ensure Alcedo Care are delivering the best quality care around.

I started my career in recruitment back in 2019 and have recruited for various sectors from industrial, retail, NHS staff and now live-in care workers. I lived in Huddersfield for 10 years after moving away for Uni to study Sports Science & Exercise and came back to my hometown (Southport) in 2021.
