Alcedo Care Warrington

My name is Gaynor and I am the Care Manager for Alcedo Care Warrington. I originally started my career as an NVQ Assessor and then went on to be a Tutor, teaching Adults in Maths and English.

I got into Care when my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Dementia. As a family, it was difficult for us to put our trust in strangers caring for our loved ones. I decided I wanted to learn more about Dementia and therefore be able to support families going through the same as we were.

I was then asked to join the Complex Care Team, specialising in caring for people at home who needed tracheostomy and ventilation, plus other complex care needs. This enabled them to be able to stay at home with their loved ones and not need to stay in a hospital or any kind of care home.

This job role over the years has given me tremendous job satisfaction and now I am in a position with Alcedo Care to be able to pass on the skills and qualities that I have gained in this area to other members of staff and therefore be able to support even more families and their loved ones.

My name is Rachael and I’m a Care Coordinator at Alcedo Care Warrington. My role involves allocating our care workers to our clients, working with our staff’s availability, level of experience and specialist skills, and aligning them to our client’s needs.

I have worked for Alcedo Care for over 4 years. I started in Alcedo as a carer and progressed after 2 years to care ambassador in Rainford. I really wanted to progress within Alcedo and became Field Care Supervisor in February 2023. This year I became a Care Coordinator.
