The Review Score of 8.5 (8.500) out of 10 for Access For Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Access For Care is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Access For Care is based on 2 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 = 3.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager

I have been working in the care sector for over five years.

After a career in the banking sector, both in the UK and in Nigeria, I was keen to focus my energy and experience on giving back to the community. My auntie, who owns a domiciliary care company in Barking, helped me to transition from banking and project management and enter the world of care. She showed me so much and I was happy to learn.

I then achieved my level five in adult social care and I registered my own company in April 2019, Bloompage Consulting, which is my care recruitment company where I get to meet and chat with a lot of carers from our community.

It has always been something of a personal drive to own a meaningful business and care is my choice because, my mom, bless her memory, was a nurse all through her life. She attained a very high rank in nursing. I would go to the hospital sometimes with her and see how she was caring for people. I saw people in very, very difficult conditions and she was so compassionate with her care and very popular.

When she passed away everyone had a lot of good things to say about my mom, especially how she cared for people. So that was why, when I was thinking of my business, the thing that came to my mind was care. Maybe it’s in my genes.

Access For Care is built on solid values and a lot of trust. I always say to my staff, that I want to have an inch-wide, mile-deep relationship with our clients. Inch-wide because we want to make sure that our relationship is tight. Mile-deep because we want to make sure that we know our clients very well and for them to know us very well too.

Every day I think how happy I am that I made my decision to devote my career to caring for others. It’s very rewarding indeed.

Job Title: IT Manager

I joined Access For Care as an intern while undertaking my course at Kingston University, Surrey. I’ve always had a love for healthcare. My mum went through some challenging health issues and eventually passed on. This was partly because there was a lack of adequate healthcare where we came from. I was keen to do what I could to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

When Obi asked me to help him with his company systems and to transition from one cloud provider to another, I was struck by his attention to detail, integrity, responsiveness and empathy. Those qualities deeply resonated with me. When Obi described to me what he was going to do and where he wanted to take the business, I knew this was something I wanted to be part of.

I knew I was making the right decision to join Obi in Access For Care because I had seen my mum experience a lack of empathy and responsiveness. I felt I could help, and the way I help is by bringing my experience in IT to the company.

When I joined, we had a very manual and paper-based approach to the business process. I headed up moving everything to the cloud to ensure that everybody had access when and where they needed it and managed company resources online. This has a very positive effect on the way that carers provide improved quality of care for our clients and means that our workforce is much happier and more efficient.

I also make sure that the technology platforms and every device we use in the provision of care are compliant and that we adhere to our Cyber Essentials commitments. Personal data and system security are of prime importance to Access For Care.
