Carolyn Beauchamp is Head of Services at Together Homecare.
I have over 20 years experience in care and been a manager for over 6 years, working with a range of clients, now focusing on elderly residential/dementia clients. I have a leadership and management Level 5, and achieved my Sterling University qualification in dementia care mapping. I enjoy my work at Together Homecare and get great satisfaction daily. We are a big family here, promoting equality and diversity in the home. I am passionate for continual improvement in staff knowledge crucial to their roles to ensure they have the necessary skills. Reflective practice is crucial to my professional development. Criticising my own practice isn't always easy but reflecting and re-observing benefits me and my skills to improve my knowledge to support me as a role model for other staff. I have a son who is very important to me along with my family. I am fully dedicated to Together Homecare and look forward to developing the service and further improving it.

I commenced my caring career in a Nursing home over 30 years ago. A blackburn ‘born and bred lass’ I feel that I have a real understanding about our local communities and populations. From here I developed and found that my passion for helping others, especially for people who are vulnerable, was created from that point. My caring journey took me to working for the NHS for 20 years which included working in some of the busiest departments within the NHS, such as Women’s Health and Medical and Surgical wards.
Following this I discovered a taste for studying and combined the two and completed a Degree in Adult Nursing, which only fed my curiosity to understand and develop further about human health and behaviours. I ensured that I embraced every opportunity no matter how hard and challenging it would be (and it was very challenging at times!) as I knew I could always give more to my patients and people around me. This was one of my greatest life achievements , as I completing this while bring up my 2 children, who are no longer children !!
Over time, maturity and personal experiences, I began to understand that sometimes, it was often the smallest of actions and interactions that can have the biggest impact on people’s experiences, and where people can benefit from the true power of kindness through words or silences. Throughout my nursing career, I always stayed true to my caring roots and felt that this is where my heart lies and projected my career to where I am now. Thoroughly enjoying making a real difference to people’s lives in any way I can, even by the smallest of measures. I believe that nursing is an art, where you have to be able to visualise and see beyond what is in front of you! I love to inspire others around me, as I once was, by some inspirational, great leaders and nurses with a sense of proudness. At Together Homecare, we share a vision of providing a high quality, bespoke caring service for our clients, families and friends and look forward to our journeys together along the way.
