Holywell Care Group selects staff who demonstrate that they truly care for the individuals they support. Care staff assist each client in a person-centred way so that the client's hopes and wishes are achieved as much as possible. Holywell's homecare staff aim to ensure that clients can each live an active and enjoyable life to the greatest extent possible in their own home. To this end, staff assist with personal care needs such as washing, bathing and dressing; grooming; bedmaking; meal preparation; toileting; bedmaking; light housework; and, assistance with taking medication. Staff also help with shopping, collection of prescriptions, and other errands. An important aspect of a carer's job is to keep the client company during each visit and all staff demonstrate kindness, which sets Holywell apart from many other services. Record keeping is important so that each member of staff is obliged to record all activities completed according to the client's care plan. Training is provided when each carer starts work, and Holywell's in-house trainers provide refresher or specialist training as necessary.
