Responsible for: The wellbeing including the physical, emotional and social needs of the clients in a caring, kind, trustworthy and respectful manner, preserving dignity, privacy, choice, independence, fulfilment, rights and self-respect at all times. 

Main Responsibilities:

In conjunction with other care workers, you are required to meet the personal care needs of Nightingales Homecare clients in a way that respects their dignity and human rights and promotes independence. Nightingales Homecare expect their care workers to share in our aim to enable the elderly/ disabled clients to live at home in comfort and safety, whilst providing support that would reasonably be given by members of their own family. These should not include tasks that would normally be expected to be untaken by a trained nurse.

As a care worker you will be required to perform a number oftasks during your assigned visits with clients. The nature of these tasks will be detailed in the clients personalised care plan. Care workers are to ensure they read and familiarises themselves with the care plan of the clients within Nightingales Homecare. All clients will have their information within their own home and on the electric app.

Range of Activities:

• To develop a trust working relationship with clients, the primary carer, and their families.

• To support Nightingale’s clients with preparation of meals detailed in the care plan.

• To support clients with purchasing any dietary provisions they required to provide an adequate and balanced diet where necessary.

• To support Nightingale’s clients with all aspects of personal care that they required this should also be detailed in the client’s care plan.

• To support Nightingale’s clients with any domestic chores including light cleaning and laundry

• To support clients to administer medication if required.

• To encourage all clients to be as independent as possible.

• Uphold dignity and privacy of Nightingales Clients as possible.

• To ensure clients are free of any hazards, potential risks or any forms of abuse. 

• TO REPORT ALL CONCERNS TO THE OFFICE OR EMERGENCY ON CALL.

• To attend all performance evaluations techniques including supervisions, spot checks, appraisals, and staff meetings.

• To attend all mandatory training as directed by your line manager

• To be willing to travel between different clients’ houses.

• To be able to work alone and as part of a team.

• To be flexible and respond to clients changing needs.

• To be able to keep accurate records of all tasks undertaken during each visit to clients.

• Dress appropriately (ID badges, Uniform, PPE)
