Job Purpose:
The Domiciliary Care Worker provides compassionate,
person-centred care to individuals in their own homes. This role
includes assisting clients with personal care, administering
medication, preparing meals, and conducting welfare checks, all while
promoting independence and dignity. The focus is on delivering
high-quality care in a respectful and professional manner, tailored to
each individual's needs and preferences.
Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care:
- Assist clients with daily personal care tasks, including
bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support with mobility, transfers, and positioning, ensuring
the client's comfort and safety at all times.
- Ensure the client maintains their dignity and privacy during
all aspects of personal care.

Person-Centred Care:
- Develop a strong understanding of each client's individual
needs, preferences, and routines.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations,
promoting social interaction and mental well-being.
- Encourage and support clients to maintain their independence
in daily activities.

Administering Medication:
- Administer prescribed medications according to the client's
care plan and in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Monitor the client for any side effects or reactions to
medication and report concerns to the appropriate health professional.
- Keep accurate records of medication administered, ensuring
proper documentation is maintained.

Meal Preparation:
- Plan, prepare, and serve meals according to the client's
dietary needs and preferences, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Assist clients with feeding if required, while promoting
independence in mealtime routines.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in
compliance with food safety standards.

Welfare Checks:
- Conduct regular welfare checks to ensure the safety,
well-being, and comfort of the client.
- Report any changes in the client's health, behavior, or
environment to the care coordinator or relevant healthcare professional.
- Ensure that the client’s living environment is safe and free
from hazards.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, ensuring all
care delivered is logged correctly.
- Complete daily reports on client activities, well-being, and
any incidents or concerns.

Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including
infection control protocols, to ensure both client and personal safety.
- Use any necessary equipment (e.g., hoists, mobility aids) in
line with proper training and client care plans.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with other care staff, family members, and
healthcare professionals to provide a coordinated approach to care.
- Participate in team meetings and care plan reviews as necessary.
Working Hours:
