Job Summary

Date posted: 21 February 2025
  • Job Reference: Homecare 01 - May 2022

We are looking for Full & Part-Time Care Assistant to visit vulnerable older adults in the High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Bourne End, Amersham, Gerrards Cross, The Chalfont’s, Marlow, Wooburn Green, Flackwell Heath and surrounding areas of Buckinghamshire. Due to the semi-rural location of some clients, a reliable means of transport is required.

No previous formal training is required, but if you are someone who is empathetic with a caring nature, punctual, and can build an excellent professional relationship with older adults in your local community, then we would love to invite you to become one of our Care Professionals.

You will be part of a fabulous team supporting our clients with various tasks in their own homes and the community. Some clients like to use their visits to have support when they go shopping, go to the hairdressers, go on an outing, have a light lunch, and generally build their confidence to mix with others in the community. Others might require help with getting out of bed in the morning, bathe, and getting ready for the day ahead (we call this personal care), give reminders to take their medication, and some help with light housework and laundry.

We will match you to suitable clients in your local area, and you will take on their regular visits throughout the week to ensure you both have the time needed to build lasting relationships. This means you will have a set weekly schedule that will make your work/life balance much easier to manage, and with a minimum of 1 hour visits you will always have quality time to spend interacting with your client and building that bond.

Pay Rates, Hours & Benefits:

·  £12.50-£14.00 per hour, plus 40p-45p per mile paid mileage allowance.

·  £25.00-£28.00 per hour on Bank Holidays.

·  Holiday Pay & Pension.

·  £500 refer a friend scheme.

·  £250 paid Onboarding training (after working 100 hours).

·  Company Events.

·  Employee Discounts.

·  Employment Assist Program.

·  Genuine Care Progression Opportunities.

·  Ongoing Training & Development

Hours of Work:

·  You must be over 18 years old.

·       Able to offer consistent availability to work, which may include early mornings or early evenings, and alternate weekends to match your week day visits.

·  Minimum of 1-hour visits so you will never feel rushed.

·  Guaranteed Hours Contracts for those who demonstrate flexibility and reliability.

·  You will have a regular set of clients, so no constant or last-minute changing rotas.

This Care Professional job is permanent employment and you must commit to the hours of work you offer us, as we will find you consistent client visits across the week including alternate weekends. Your clients may need support with their personal care, which can range from getting them dressed to assisting with washes and showers, so being punctual is also a requirement. As a Care Professional you will be providing a valuable role by enabling our clients to continue living independently in their own homes, which is proven to contribute to better health and wellbeing.

If you are interested in having an informal chat, please  If all goes well, we will then invite you to a face-to-face interview at our office in Bourne End, and then hopefully on to the application stage. You will then be invited to a 4-day face-to-face Onboarding Training to ensure you are fully prepared to begin your journey as a valued Care Professional at Home Instead. We look forward to hearing from you very soon!
