Reporting to: Janet Olutu-Adegbuyi (Registered Manager)

Accountable to: Manager/Senior Staff-in-charge

Job purpose:

To work under the guidance of the deputy manager/Line Senior Staff in charge; to provide care and support to service users by helping service users in their own home, KJD Care Supported Accommodation; & to achieve & promote full independence with support.

Principle Responsibilities:

? To assist service users in meeting their daily needs if/ when required

? To act as associate worker to service users in the absence of their keyworker

? To escort service users outside of their home as/ when required.

? To provide a full range of auxiliary care support interventions, maintain boundaries-relationships and help to ensure that service users meet their care centre plan.

.  Assisting with preparation of meals, drinks, and snacks when necessary.

.  Provide assistance with toileting and changing clothes and/or bedding where necessary.

. Maintain commodes and bed linen.

. Provide assistance with other tasks of personal daily living and provide general support.

. Assist and encourage the management of medication and monitor health related conditions such as dietary & fluid intake.

. To help service users with mobility difficulties, or other physical disabilities, including incontinence.

. To respect the individual rights and choices of service users/clients.

. To respond to the different cultural values and diversity of service users/clients.

. To ensure the health and safety of service users/ clients; to report any health and safety issues or equipment failures to the manager, deputy manager and senior carer on duty.

. To communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.

. To provide personal care and support to service users regarding their daily living needs.

. To contribute to the social programmes offered to individual service users/ clients.

. To carry out moving and handling in accordance with training and in-house policy.

. To assist service users to live a normal lifestyle, including sleeping at night where required.

. To undertake generic cleaning duties where required.

. To dispose of waste safely and in accordance with service users wishes and as per the plan of care and support.

.  Liaises with professional staff in carrying out care plans etc.

.  To work within the framework of the agency policies and procedures in place at The KJD CARE LTD.

 - To participate in meetings, Supervisions, mandatory training, appraisal and review as required.

- Accurate time keeping is essential for all duties.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Willingness to undertake training when require.
  • Drivers
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Care Experience in care
  • Minimum qualification- Wiliness to get a Care Certificate
  • NVQ2 in Care
  • Understanding of Mental Health Principle
