Care Assistant

Shire is a quality, trusted provider of homecare services within Dacorum Borough Council, delivering social care across Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted.

Care Assistants at Shire work with a varied Client base, so no two days are the same. Although predominantly working with older adults, Shire also supports people with learning disabilities and mental health presentations.

Shire is now recruiting compassionate and hard-working Care Assistants to join our ‘purple army’. Although no previous experience is required (as you will receive full CPD accredited training), a driving licence and access to a vehicle is unfortunately due to the nature of the work.

• Hemel Hempstead
• Berkhamsted/Northchurch

Hours we offer.

• Mornings
• Evenings
• Weekends
• Long days/shifts
• Nights sleeping/waking

What we pay.

• £11.50 to £13.00 per hour. This is based on planned time, not minute by minute (very important!)
• £20.00 per hour on bank holidays

As a Care Assistant, you will be required to support a mixture of Clients throughout the day supporting with tasks such as:

• Personal care
• Medication
• Meal prep and eating
• Shopping and appointments
• Companionship
• End of life care, where appropriate
