If you are kind, honest, passionate about developing new skills, respectful to everyone you support or work with while remaining dedicated to promoting independence, respect and dignity, you would enjoy this role.
If you are a patient people person with a good listening ear, are reliable, and have a flexible can-do attitude, you will excel in this position.
EXPERIENCE
Whilst you don’t need any specific qualifications for this role as we provide ongoing training and support, you do need to be able to communicate well and have a good level of both written and verbal English.
We welcome people without any prior experience in care because you will have more transferable skills from your previous jobs than you realise, but we also welcome applications from people with prior care experience and/or those you have already completed their Care Certificate / relevant qualification.
REQUIREMENTS
WHAT DOES THE JOB INCLUDE?
This is a varied role where you’ll get the opportunity to form close bonds with the individuals you support for whilst working as part of a dedicated team.
Your role will include supporting tenants with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning and participating in a wide range of fun recreational and social activities whilst encouraging them to gain independence and new skills, whether that’s continuing to do things they already enjoy or trying new experiences.
You’ll also be there to promote independence and positivity, whilst always maintaining people’s dignity, which will include assisting in the assessment of the effectiveness of care implementation and delivery, and working in co-operation with multi-disciplinary teams in order to maximise opportunities for the tenants.
