Health Care Worker (HCA)

We are currently recruiting for a Domiciliary Carer / Home Care Assistant to support our client in Bath, Ludgershall, Andover, Tidworth, Bulford, Pewsey, Amesbury, Salisbury, Devizes and Surrounding Areas in Wiltshire to provide personal and person-centred care to clients in their own home.

You will be assisting the client clients with day to day living activities, personal, prompting medication and meal preparation and feeding. You will also be assisting the clients to live independently in their own home.

DUTIES

• To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the clients using a person-centered approach.
• To observe and promote the Client’s choice, independence, privacy, fulfilment and other rights.
• To create and maintain good professional relationships with Clients, their family and friends and other stakeholders.
• To actively support other Care Workers.

GENERAL

• To dress appropriately, wearing uniform and using personal protective equipment provided.
• To seek out best practice and look at innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
• To attend and participate in regular Care Worker team meetings and any other relevant meetings.
• To attend in house and external training pertinent to the role of Care Worker.
• To ensure completed weekly timesheets are submitted on time.
• To observe all health & safety rules and take reasonable care to promote health and safety of self and others and raise any concerns to the Field Care Supervisor.
• To aim to ensure everyone has equal treatment and equal access to services and employment.
• Any other duties requested by Senior Management, which are within the scope of the post.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The post requires an enhanced DBS check
• Car driver and licence will be an advantage
• Training and supervision will be provided
• Previous experience not necessary

Salary: £12 - £16.50 per hour

Mileage: £0.25/mile. Support available to claim maximum mileage from HMRC (£0.45p).

We provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all staff

Experience:

• Domiciliary Care: 1 year (Preferred)

• DBS (Preferred)

Duties:

• Supporting and assisting with all personal care requirements
• Charting or taking notes for others to review
• Providing companionship and supportive listening
• Observing and reporting any changes in the health or status of the patient
• Taking vitals, height, and weight
• Preparing meals and feeding patients
• Maintaining patient’s health equipment
• Responding to emergency situations
• Prompting and administering medication
• Accompanying and transporting patients to appointments and/or social events
• Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
• Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
