We provide blended training through online and in-house training. This will include shadowing trained Care Assistant colleagues, to get first-hand experience before you start and to make sure you're fully comfortable and confident in performing your role. We'll also help to further your ambitions, whether you want guidance to excel in your Care Assistant role or to progress and develop your skills to become a Team Leader, Registered Manager or branch out into a nursing career.

Care Assistant Job description

Some of your main responsibilities as a Care Assistant will be:

  • Helping clients with their individual needs and maintaining independence
  • Companionship
  • Personal care – help with bathing/showering, dressing, assisting to the toilet
  • Prompting to take medication
  • Accompanying to appointments
  • Light housekeeping duties and meal preparation
  • Keeping up to date care notes after every visit to a client’s home

Our Care Assistant training:

When starting as a Care Assistant, we will provide:

  • Paid training – 1 day of in-house classroom training and 1 week of shadowing a trained Care Assistant, attending care calls on the run you take on
  • Care Certificate training
  • 1-to-1 support, i.e. reviews, competency checks, supervisions and observations
  • Small classroom groups

Our Care Assistant shift patterns:

We offer a range of variable hour contracts; part-time and full-time hours are available on the stated shift patterns. We offer Morning, Evening and All Day shifts.
