Scenario

Dorothy* is 78, she lives in her own home in Windsor, she’s always had an active life but since her stroke in 2017, has struggled doing sometimes the simplest of things. She had a fall towards the end of last year as she’s not as steady on her feet as she once was. Dorothy is like part of our family; we have made such a difference to her life it’s wonderful to see.

We help Dorothy out of bed in the morning, make her a cup of tea and ensure she has her porridge with blueberries. We remind her to take her medication and help her to get washed and dressed, ready for her day. As we have quality time to spend with Dorothy, we can help her with light jobs around her home such as the vacuuming or putting her washing away. Then at night, we help her into bed, making sure she’s comfortable with everything she needs within her reach.
