Barnet Carers is recruiting - join our friendly team to help us look after young people in Barnet!

We are looking for early-bird At-Home Carers to work with Young People in the early mornings (from 6 am), before school, evenings after school and at weekends.

Barnet Carers is a registered charity that exists to support local residents within the London Borough of Barnet.. We have over 30 years of providing personal and respite care in people’s own homes in the Borough and we know it takes someone with a passion for making a difference, who is truly special and has the right personality to fit into our dynamic team.

We are looking for people who are truly passionate about care. We are friendly, hardworking, have a positive can-do approach and are recruiting and training Carers every week!  

Although experience is not essential for our At-Home Carer roles, they will suit people with previous experience working as: Home Care Assistants, Carers, Care Assistants, Support Workers, Personal Carers, or Domiciliary Carers

Role responsibility
Your role will vary according to the needs of the individual young person, but might encompass helping them get ready for school, preparing breakfast and other meals, ensuring they are ready for their transport to and from school in good time, helping with their personal care, assisting with them with their homework and last, but not least, having some fun with them.

A crucial part of this role includes getting to know clients personally and providing them with emotional support and company, which contributes positively to their wellbeing.

You will have:

  • Good English communications skills
  • Flexible availability
  • Be car driver
  • QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable, but not necessary as training will be provided)
  • You also need to be eligible to work in the UK and able to prove residency at your current address. Owing to the nature of the role a full, enhanced DBS is required as well as two satisfactory references.

Please note we are a Domiciliary Care Service and NOT connected to a Care Home.  We provide care in people’s own homes so you must feel comfortable doing this and happy to travel between jobs.

We ARE NOT offering sponsorship for overseas workers. You must be resident and able to work in the UK.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
