The only essential skills that we require is for you to have a full driving licence, access to a reliable vehicle and to have a caring nature. We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

· Mileage paid at 35p per mile – you can claim up to 45p on the Gov. website

Some myths about being a Care Assistant:

· I need to have experience = At Bluebird Care we fully train you.

· If a customer cancels a visit I won’t be paid = You are still paid for short notice cancelled visits.

· There’s a lot of travelling = Our experienced Office Manager co-ordinates all visits and strives to keep travel time between visits to a minimum, however, you are paid for your travel time and mileage.

· I have to pay for training = At Bluebird Care we do not charge you for any training, we also cover all costs for refresher training.

· There’s no career progression = We support you throughout your career with Bluebird Care and offer free accredited training through NCFE and QCF.

· I’ll be working loads of unsociable hours = We ask for a commitment to work a couple of evenings a week and some hours every other weekend. We believe if everyone works a little bit of the unsociable hours then it makes it fair on everyone.
