Community Care Worker

What we are looking for:
We are looking for a confident and dynamic person to work in the community to assist Service User’s we currently provide care to in their own homes. Live-In Carers are employed to work within clients’ homes to provide a timely, flexible, and complementary role over a 24-hour period to organise the household and personal care routine of the clients.
The aim of this level of support is to enable clients to remain at home with as much independence as possible and to support the clients in achieving a good quality of life and improving their life outcomes. Clients’ personal preferences must be always respected.
Live-In Carers must carry out the tasks in a professional, discreet, and caring manner whilst respecting the clients’ dignity, privacy, property, and confidentiality. Live-In Carers provide personal and practical care and support services for clients with a wide range of illnesses and disabilities in their own home.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Personal Care: to assist with washing, bathing, showering, cleaning teeth, dressing, and undressing, help the service user to get ready for the day, hair care, continence management, personal hygiene, and care of pressure areas.
II. Assistance of daily aids and re-enablement aids
III. Assistance with re-enablement programmes as specified by healthcare professionals.
IV. Healthcare: Prompting and assisting with prescribed medication as required. This does not involve administering medication.
V. Dietary Care: Preparation of snacks and meals and assisting with meal distribution and assistance for feeding and drinking
VI. Domestic and Household: General domestic tasks, bed making, clearing rubbish, and washing.

What we offer
If you are new to care or have very little experience, you would be placed with a lesser need’s client.
If you have more experience and skills that would be beneficial to a higher or complex needs client.
Important Information.
A DBS (formerly CRB) check prior to the commencement of the role is required.
All staff are required to respect the confidentiality of all matters that they might learn in the course of their employment. All staff must respect the requirements set out in the Data Protection Act 1998. All staff must ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974. All staff must also ensure that they read and abide by the Code of Practice of both the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA) and the General Social Care Council (GSCC).
