About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, patient, and resilient Support Workers to join our dedicated team. You will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs including challenging behaviour, to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support in line with individual care and support plans.

  • Assist individuals with day-to-day tasks including personal care, cooking, cleaning, and accessing community services.

  • Promote independence, choice, and inclusion in all aspects of daily life.

  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support (PBS) techniques.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation (e.g., incident reports, daily logs, care plans).

  • Support individuals to attend appointments, social events, and participate in meaningful activities.

  • Work closely with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standard of care.

  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies and procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, or behavioural challenges.

  • Understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, and promoting dignity and respect.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations.

  • Flexible and reliable – able to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Capacity Act and CQC standards.
