Summary of the role

Cindy Care is a start-up, independent live-in/domiciliary care company.

We are looking for a self-motivated Care Manager with a passion for delivering quality care.

An individual who is self-motivated, confident and entrepreneurial.

This is an exciting role and comes along with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, it brings with it the opportunity to be involved in the strategic planning of the wider business from an operational and business development perspective.

Our strategy is to grow high quality services rapidly, through a combination of acquisition and organic growth.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in delivery of domiciliary care, either through an agency, employed or self-employed.

In addition, will have proven direct experience of running a domiciliary care branch or other service-based business / branch.

 

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities

• Successful completion of a Fit and Proper Person CQC assessment interview (CQC registration)

• Lead and monitor our team of front-line service delivery staff and our care coordinator.

• Recruit, develop and retain team members of the right quality to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

• Grow the business of the Bedfordshire branch to meet revenue and profitability objectives.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in domiciliary / home care

• Must live within the midlands area and be able to commute to the office daily.

• Have a full UK driving license and own a vehicle.

• Experience managing a service-based business or branch.

• Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management in Adult Care

• Strong leadership skills, able to engage, support and motivate individuals.

• Sound communication skills; demonstrating both empathy and assertiveness.

• Experience in identifying and securing new business.

• Financially adept. Ability to manage and meet budgets.

• Right to work within the UK.

• Excellent knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards and Regulations

• Successful completion of a Fit and Proper Person CQC assessment interview

Knowledge of Safeguarding principles

Desirable:

• Train the Trainer Qualification

• Knowledge of People Planner software

Service Delivery

• To ensure the delivery of person-centered care/support services that promote independence, choice and dignity to empower people to live as independently as possible.

• To ensure care/support services are structured in a way that provides flexibility, reliability and continuity.

• To ensure the development of robust and compliant systems and procedures.

• To ensure the service is appropriately resourced with the right number of suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff.

• To ensure that all new referrals are responded to in a timely manner in line with organizational expectations.

• To oversee the coordination of care workers across all areas.

• To ensure good communication and links with all stakeholders regarding the provision of services including commissioners, service users, relatives, social work teams etc.

• To ensure the office is resourced during office hours and ensure the provision of an effective out of hours on-call service.

Service Development

• In partnership with the senior management team participate in the strategic development of the organization for the delivery of quality, innovative domiciliary services.

• To grow and develop services through increasing delivered hours and maximising referral opportunities.

• To identify marketing opportunities and develop a marketing plan.

• To manage projects that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.

• To produce monthly management reports and attend the Senior Management Team Meetings.

Team Management and Leadership

• To ensure that there is a coordinated and consistent approach to service provision that is cost effective and efficient making the best use of allocated resources.

• To identify recruitment needs and develop plans to ensure the service is appropriately resourced with the capacity to grow.

• To ensure that staff are trained for their roles and responsibilities and that all groups of staff within the team have access to appropriate training and learning opportunities.

• To establish and maintain effective two-way communication to ensure that all staff are of and can contribute to operational and strategic developments.

• To arrange and attend regular service planning meetings with service delivery teams.

• To put in place systems to ensure healthy working practices and that staff receive relevant information to fulfill their health and safety responsibilities.

• To ensure that all staff are familiar with and work in line with Cindy Care Limited policies and procedures.

• To coach, support and guide staff at all levels.

Quality Assurance

• To implement and maintain effective quality assurance systems to promote high quality, best practice and continuous improvement of services in line with Cindy Care Limited Quality Assurance Policies.

• To deliver services effectively and efficiently and have clear monitoring procedures and processes in place to ensure standards are continually met.

• To ensure good and safe practice in all activities relating to service user care by putting systems in place to guide, monitor and evaluate care and services provided.

• To evaluate services through regular review, annual service user questionnaires, analysis of complaints & compliments etc.

• To implement Cindy Care Limited Care Governance Framework to continuously improve services, care and support.

Resource Management

• To proactively manage delegated budgets ensuring efficient use of resources.

• To develop operational controls in partnership with the senior management team to ensure a commitment to cost effectiveness and value for money.
