Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. You will be covering breaks for our live-in care team and as such each visit you provide will be for a minimum of 2 hours. In this role, you will provide essential support to clients in a home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities. Strong communication skills and the ability to drive are essential for this position.

Duties

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Monitor patients' health and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of patient areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
• Assist with mobility and transportation of patients within the care home or to appointments as required.
• Document patient progress and any relevant information accurately in compliance with IT systems.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is preferred but not essential.
• A valid driving licence is required for transportation duties.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
• Ability to follow care plans meticulously while adapting to the individual needs of each patient.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards patient care.
• Basic IT skills for documentation purposes are advantageous.
