Social care provider, Advantage Healthcare, has been awarded the Positive About Disabled People symbol, having shown effective measures in allowing disabled people to achieve their employment potential.

The ‘three-ticks’ symbol was awarded after a review conducted by Jobcentre Plus found the provider has a proactive approach towards recruiting employees who happen to have a disability, including an annual assessment in place to establish whether the most is being made of employee’s abilities.

Advantage Healthcare, who currently operate in forty-eight branches around the UK, carry out care provision for many clients with a mental or physical disability, although by achieving the Positive About Disabled People symbol the business has shown how care providers can go even further in their support of the disabled by considering their own workforce.

Commenting on the achievement, recruitment manager Peter Holmes said, ‘We have always been committed to equal opportunities and the employment of disabled people. We are proud to be able to display the Positive About Disabled People symbol and proud of what it represents’.

More can be found out about the disability award by contacting Jobcentre Plus, who have recognised employment needs as a powerful tool in promoting disability awareness. The directory is also designed to inform disabled people looking for work of potential employees in their area who have themselves been permitted to display the ‘three-ticks’ symbol.
