National domiciliary care provider Sevacare has confirmed five new contract wins already in 2012, as the company’s drive for expansion, continues to show healthy gains.
Sevacare, which was founded in the Midlands, is in the top 10 of domiciliary care providers and has this year announced new contracts in Portsmouth, Sheffield, Slough and Walsall, as well as the London borough of Merton.
Already working alongside six other local authorities in London – Haringey, Lewisham, Hounslow, Hillingdon, Greenwich and Westminster – the Merton contract marks a growing presence in the capital that care services director Darren Stapelberg hopes will continue even before the end of the year, commenting ‘We are thrilled with the news of the Merton contract award and look forward to expanding our services across London further in 2012’.
Yorkshire is another region where the provider’s reach has seen significant growth of late, with the new Sheffield office following on from a Rotherham contract added to the portfolio at the start of 2012. As a result the business estimates its care provision output as having risen by fifty per cent in the county, from 4,000 to 6,000 hours each week.
Discussing the new Sheffield contract, care services director Debbie Dennis said: ‘We are very excited about delivering our care services in Sheffield. This is a great move for Sevacare, especially after the Rotherham contract win, and will expand our existing work in Yorkshire.'
Together with extending its home care provision, the provider is also showing its versatility in being awarded a Home from Hospital Community Reablement service from Walsall Council, that will focus upon achieving a healthy transition into the domestic environment after hospital discharge. Reablement services are an effective means of reducing hospital readmissions and essential to furthering the integration of health and social care services.
Chief executive Roger Booker said: ‘Our Emergency Discharge Service in Birmingham has demonstrated Sevacare’s expertise and skill in this specialist area. Sevacare has the capacity and staff skills to deliver this crucial service in Walsall and we look forward to beginning the contract in March’.
