The shortlist for The Health Investors Awards 2012 has been announced, with home care provider The Lifeways Group confirmed as among the nominations for Specialist Care Provider of the Year.
Focusing on care-at-home packages for adults with learning disabilities, The Lifeways Group was established in 1995 and have specialised in personal issues that include autism, challenging behaviour and acquired brain injury.
Commenting on the nomination, CEO Paul Marriner praised the efforts of a hard-working team: ‘I am delighted that Lifeways has been recognised as a candidate for specialist care provider of the year. In 2011 we introduced a huge range of innovative working practices aimed at enhancing the lives of people we support. This, combined with our staff and service users’ commitment towards continuous improvement, acknowledges the organisation’s hard work and commitment towards quality and innovation.’
Care packages available from The Lifeways Group include supported living, short breaks and respite, residential care, transitional support and forensic services. Further to the Specialist Care provider nomination, the provider was successful in being named number one business by Laing’s Healthcare.
The Health Investors Awards are being held at Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on the 31st of May, organised to highlight innovation and professionalism within the independent care sector. Together with care providers the event will also recognise the contribution of financial services, legal advisors, new care technologies and property consultants.
The other care businesses nominated for Specialist Care Provider of the Year are Active Assistance, Advanced Childcare, Cambrian, Curocare, Home Instead, Huntercombe and Mildmay.
