Taking place on the 27th & 28th June, this year’s NASHiCS (National Association for Safety and Health in Care Services) event will look to recognise excellence in social care, hosting the second Safety in Care Awards and welcoming many of the sector’s most respected experts.

Held at the Barcelo Daventry Hotel, in Northampton, the event offers visitors the chance to learn about new industry products and innovations within the supplier’s exhibition zone. A great depth of healthcare related topics covered include infection control and medication management, personalisation and safeguarding, lone working, the use of hoists and slings, and fire safety.

The event is organised in collaboration with the National Learning and Development Forum, looking to offer care professionals as much help and information as possible at a time when care services are under massive pressure to show they can cope with increasing demand.

National chair of NASHiCS Chris Jackson comments: “Everyone working in health and safety in the care sector is feeling the pressure of the increasing scrutiny that social care is experiencing. This year’s forum has been carefully formulated to give delegates the right information, tools, advice and confidence to rise above it, keep abreast of latest developments, consider new perspectives, and continue to deliver excellence in their day-to-day role.”

“We’re also thrilled to once again be able to celebrate the sector’s unsung heroes in the second NASHiCS Safety in Care Awards. There really is great work being done out there and we very much look forward to rewarding our deserved winners.”

A number of panel discussions are scheduled to take place, with experts including Des Kelly OBE of the National Care Forum, Ruth Bolton of the Health and Safety Executive, and international speaker from Switzerland Christa Monkhouse.
