The Newcastle-under-Lyme branch of Home Instead Senior Care has announced a fresh recruitment drive for 40 new carers, as the business looks to expand to meet a growing need for skilled social care.

Home Instead Senior Care is part of a worldwide organisation dedicated to the provision of care for older people within their own homes, with a UK portfolio that has grown within a few years to number more than 80 branches.

The Newcastle-under-Lyme branch, which also covers Stoke-on-Trent, has been in operation for three years and specialises in a flexible range of care-at-home services, including personal care, companionship, medication administration, post-discharge care, housekeeping and other daily chores.

Commenting on the new recruitment drive, branch owner Paul Edden thanked clients for how they had embraced the service and spoke of the challenges ahead that home care services face:

“With an ageing population caring for the elderly is a very important issue and we have found many people are pleased to learn that we offer a realistic ‘stay at home’ option. We are very grateful for the ongoing support we have had from members of the local community and as demand for our services continues to rise, we are actively looking to recruit 40 new caregivers in the next few months.

“Although our existing caregivers come from a hugely varied background, the one thing they have in common is that they have a real passion for helping others and caring for people in our local community. We provide all the necessary training and are a friendly, supportive team so professional experience is not essential.”

Other Home Instead branches have recently been involved in recruitment drives in Oxford, York, Northwich, Milton Keynes and Grantham.
