Adults in Lanarkshire who depend on mental health care provision will benefit from a new electronic call monitoring system, replacing a paper-based manual system to ensure an error-free portrayal of completed appointments, while also proving a more cost efficient system to maintain.
Made possible through a deal the Lanarkshire Association for Mental Health (LAMH) has struck with Skillweb and Blackberry®, the SmartTask Attend system allows carers to log attendance electronically using the innovative Near Field Communication (NFC) and RFID attendance technology installed on the Blackberry Curve 9360 and the Blackberry 9900.
Phones are swiped over a unique tab, or label, that subsequently allows the provider to accurately log the arrival and departure times of carers via a web portal, while SmartTask Attend also provides the option of recording carer workflow via the mobile phone’s camera.
Hugh Cairns, regional manager at LAMH said: “We are committed to enhancing service standards across our operation, so we are actively identifying leading-edge solutions that can help us better monitor and manage care delivery in our community. SmartTask Attend will provide the necessary insight to increase the time spent with service users, whilst streamlining our operation to achieve efficiencies.”
Managing director of Skillweb, Paul Ridden, also commented: “With the increasing pressure on healthcare organisations to provide more care with less resources, SmartTask Attend is an ideal tool to not only demonstrate compliance but also reduce administration time spent producing time sheets and prove service delivery. We are working closely with Lanarkshire Association for Mental Health to highlight the benefits of the solution and achieve measurable benefits to their service users.”
LAMH is expected to report to the Scottish Mental Health Cooperative, who represent ten mental health associations in Scotland, on the benefits of SmartTask Attend.
