Home care provider Sevacare’s healthy programme of expansion has been bolstered by the scoop of a prestigious national care award; having been presented with the Care Employer Award at the Great British Home Care Awards.

Thought of as the social care ‘Oscars’, the Great British Home Care Awards were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on Saturday 23rd May, attending which were the winners of nine regional awards held in the Autumn.

The Midlands-based Sevacare have announced the opening of several new branches this year as the company extends its provision to more communities, with judges impressed by the quality of personal care delivered by the provider and the relationship between owners, management and core staff.

After receiving the award, chief executive Roger Booker commented: “This is a tremendous accolade for Sevacare and we are extremely pleased and honoured to receive it.

“The award gives us recognition as an employer and this is particularly gratifying as we believe that our success is based upon looking after and developing our staff as we look to provide the best care we can for our clients.”

Chairman and founder Ravi Bains added: “I am absolutely delighted that Sevacare has been recognised in this way and it is a tribute to Roger and the rest of the team for the way they shape the organisation and motivate our staff to deliver their best.”

Great British Care Awards director Lisa Carr commented: “The quality of the finalists from across the country and throughout the sector is extremely high and the judges have had the unenviable task of choosing an overall winner for each category – a true national champion.

“During these testing economic times social care has once again suffered the impact of associated adversity – the awards are a positive way of raising motivation within our social care workforce and indeed the profile of the sector as a whole. The evening has been truly exhilarating; everyone here tonight is a winner.”
