Hosting ministerial speakers
Health+Care is the largest national health and care event offering a networking and learning experience with input from more than 350 speakers, providing debates, case studies and solutions to current health and social care problems.
Delegates will have access to advice on improving the quality of care through staff development, led by director of Bluebird Care, Fiona Williams. Bridget Warr, chief executive of the UKHCA will look at the NICE guideline for setting the standards in home care. As the event will take place after the general election, Health+Care will host talks from new ministerial speakers who will be making their first addresses to public at the conference.
Sessions at the conference include the seven most common mistakes made when recruiting for the care and nursing sector and providing tips from the world’s best care businesses, led by Russell Crawford, chief executive of London based recruitment company, Angel Human Resources.
Dr Michael Dixon, senior advisor to NHS clinical commissioners, will lead a conference on integration to support the independence of vulnerable people, a programme that has been successfully piloted in Cornwall.
'All speakers are experienced in developing high quality health and care systems'
The 25 stream programme will cover a range of topics including: social work progress, early intervention and personalisation, health and well-being, integrating mental health, general practice as well as out of hospital care and co-commissioning.
Other speakers include head of policy and public affairs for Alzheimer’s Society, George McNamara and chief executive of Care England, Professor Martin Green.
Mr Green said: "Health+Care 2015 has an impressive line-up of speakers. They all have experience in meeting the challenges of developing a high quality health and care system, at a time of severe pressure on resources. This event is packed with ideas and will give commissioners and managers an opportunity to see examples of innovation and good practice.
"All-new governments set increasing expectations for the health and social care system and the incoming government will do this against the backdrop of austerity. The most important thing for commissioners to know, is how to work smarter not harder, in order to deliver a high quality and sustainable service.
"My session at Health+Care will look at the potential of residential care services to deliver flexible high quality care for people with long-term conditions, and will challenge commissioners and providers to deliver quality care while still saving money."
