Home care provider Right at Home has recently launched a City & Guilds accredited Care Certificate to ensure franchisees provide the same level of care throughout the UK.
Right at Home have become the UK’s first home care provider to offer a City & Guilds accredited Care Certificate. The certificate is delivered by Affinity Training to guarantee exception care that meets Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
Managing director of Right at Home UK, Ken Deary, said: “We fully support the introduction of the Care Certificate. To us, caring for vulnerable adults and seniors involves much more than simply completing tasks – it centres on choice, compassion, dignity and respect; and of ensuring that each individual can decide how they would like to be supported.
“At Right at Home we significantly surpass the required national minimum standards and pride ourselves on exceeding usual expectations in our care delivery.”
Franchisees within the Right at Home network have six months from 1st April to introduce the Care Certificate as part of their training programme. The certificate requires care workers to prove they have met 15 key standards, as well as having been assessed for their behaviour, knowledge and skills, to ensure they are compassionate and caring in the care they provide.
A Care Certificate can only be awarded once the 15 key standards have been met, in addition, Right at Home care providers will have to show the relevant training has been provided and show a record of assessment to ensure all decisions are auditable.
Right at Home’s UK head of compliance, Ben Selby, said: “The introduction of our City & Guilds accredited Care Certificate is another example of Right at Home’s commitment to supporting franchisees to maintain an outstanding level of Care Quality Commission compliance.”
“We are the first care provider in the UK to implement the Care Certificate. We see it as an excellent opportunity to build a new first class learning platform to ensure that all Right at Home Caregivers are trained to a very high standard.
He added: “We pride ourselves on ensuring all our franchisees are given the very best tools, information and resources so they can deliver the best quality care. We welcome the fact that the Care Certificate will require all care providers to show much greater commitment to training their staff to high standards and promoting their clients’ overall well-being.”
