A home care provider in Kent has been praised by the care watchdog for treating people and their relatives with “kindness, dignity and respect”.

Home Instead Senior Care - Bromley, Chislehurst & Orpington was rated outstanding overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Inspectors were told by people being cared for and their relatives that staff were “exceptional” and that they exceeded all expectations, going above and beyond in their care.

Staff spent time building relationships with people which had a positive impact on people’s lives, according to the CQC.

In addition, staff were extremely motivated to provide the best possible care and consistently thought about how to ensure people felt well cared for. This included staff visiting a client in hospital and helping another person with their shopping.

Andrea Sutcliffe, chief inspector of adult social care at the CQC, said: “The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.

“An outstanding service is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment. I would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved.”

The service was extremely well run and managed, with the values of the organisation embedded into staff practice, according to the report, with staff saying they were always supported, valued and listened to by the management team.
