Kate Terroni, the Care Quality Commission’s chief inspector of Adult Social Care, will explain what home care staff can do to impress inspectors at the UK’s first ever Home Care Expo on 17-18 March.
The Home Care Expo, located alongside the Dementia, Care & Nursing Home Expo, is being launched at the NEC in Birmingham, following the popularity of the latter’s Home Care theatre last year.
Kate Terroni is scheduled to speak at the Home Care Expo alongside top care leaders from across the UK.
This includes the UKHCA’s chief executive Dr. Jane Townson who will talk about home care trends. The Department for Health & Social Care’s director of adult social care Rosamond Roughton is also a key speaker.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the Home Care Expo’s educational partner and will run a two-day inspector hub offering one-to-one advice from CQC inspectors at Stand D834.
Anyone can visit the stand throughout the show to meet expert inspectors and get any questions about inspections answered.
Expo 'promises to address fundamental challenges'
"The Home Care Expo was born following the success of the Home Care zone at the 2019 Dementia, Care & Nursing Home Expo. The dedicated zone highlighted the need for the domiciliary care sector and care, nursing and residential care to work in unison in order to develop a sustainable social care model and meet the rising demand for care”, said Ashlea Gilfoy, marketing director at Roar Techmedia group.
She added: “This event promises to address fundamental challenges in the industry and dedicates itself to not only enabling the industry to continue to strive to meet demand, but to thrive."
The free seminar programme at the Home Care Expo not only offers visitors expert insight from care leaders but also a CPD-accredited education.
The latest home care technologies aimed at saving domiciliary care providers time and money will be displayed at the Home Care Expo’s exhibitor stands.
Home Care Expo attendees can experience the Virtual Dementia Tour. The Technology Enabled Care Services Association (TSA) will host a TSA theatre during the two-day show.
