An Aylesbury home care company Care & Carers has been awarded a one month free advertising on Sky TV after thousands of businesses applied for this unique opportunity.

In May, Sky Media pledged one million pounds to support small and medium sized enterprises (SME) which have been at the forefront of coronavirus.

To enter, Care & Carers had to apply to Sky Media telling them why they believed viewers would benefit from accessing the TV advertising and how the advert would highlight their business in their local area.

For the successful companies which won, Sky Media created free advertising via AdSmart to help companies like Care & Carers connect to their audiences during the pandemic.

Care & Carers advert was launched on 1 July and will run until 31 July.

The Care & Carers advert shows a daughter using an innovative app called the Careberry where she can check on her loved one and carer whilst at work giving the daughter more confidence that her mum is not alone.

Hossein Sharifi, founder of Care & Carers and Careberry Software told homecare.co.uk: “[Sky Media] were looking for businesses who were thriving the outbreak and they had the potential for growth."

During the coronavirus pandemic, Mr Sharifi said it had been "extremely difficult for everybody" so the opportunity to advertise has been "exciting for us as a company and worth all the hard work everyone has put in over the last few months."

’There is nothing like this in the care market at the moment’

Care & Carers creation of the Careberry is the first of its type in the UK and brings together all aspects of home care delivery such as recruitment, care planning, time sheets, care delivery, development and monitoring within one platform.

Mr Sharifi said: “Existing home care apps cover one or limited aspects of home care, so we developed one which does it all. For example, rostering, care planning, monitoring, medication, recruitment, communication or even manning multi-branches within one account.

“We have automated the recruitment process via our platform. Once they create an account online they will be taken through recruitment step by step and if successful, they will be matched with our clients based on their skills and experiences.

“Once they become a carer the customer will be allocated to them. You will then be able to see their shift and the system will alert the customer to tell them the carer is on their way. We can track the carer when they are travelling and when they are with the customer.

“When the carer is finished the invoice is created by the system and the the care plan is created and shared with carers on their app in real time via information fed to the system.”

The moment the carers leave the house, the family members get an alert to tell them the carers have left. They also get an update with what their loved one has been given. It also allows families to leave notes for the carers so there is not a delay with communication. Since the launch of the app, Care & Carers have won three awards: Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2019 in Digital Innovation, SME Silver Award in Business Innovation (2020) and SME Silver Award in Best New Business (2020).

“Our platform is unique in many ways. We're making it available to other care providers and two London-based care providers are currently trialling it now,” says Mr Sharifi.

Care & Carers, based in Aylesbury can offer personal care, dementia care, companionship, respite as well as other services.
