Liz Chapman, her son Tom and daughter Roberta, will run the new County Durham office for Blossom Home Care, which has headquarters in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

Blossom Home Care was founded by registered nurse Fiona Leggott and her husband John Leggott in 2015. It has offices in Tadcaster and Teesdale and specialises in delivering home care in rural and farming communities.

Liz Chapman’s marketing company in County Durham has worked with John and Fiona Leggott, since the Blossom brand was launched in 2015. The collaboration gave Ms Chapman a good insight into the business prior to buying the franchise.

Liz Chapman said: “We believe in what Blossom stands for and the ethos and values behind the care that is delivered that enables the people we care for to remain living in their own home."

Blossom’s home care visits are a minimum of 50 minutes which its website states ‘gives adequate time for a good period of social interaction and allows for all care needs to be met… without feeling pressurised to rush’. The care firm states this reduces the chance of accidents and falls and ‘decreases the likelihood of loneliness and depression’.

Ms Chapman added: "It’s a holistic approach to care that ensures we fully meet their needs. A 50-minute minimum call also means our carers have time to interact with clients and do all the things that really matter to them and us.”

Registered manager Allison Carrel will work for the franchise business.

Roberta Chapman said: “Our Registered Manager has over 30-years care experience and we have a great team of carers to deliver just bloomin’ good care to our clients.

"The documentation, software and systems that Blossom have provided are extremely thorough and a huge advantage to the business”.

Tom Chapman said: “We are committed to ensuring that client needs are at the centre of everything we do and to achieving the same high-quality care standards in our territory that have been achieved by Blossom Home Care in other areas over the last five years.”
