Staff at the home care branch have been working hard to support their clients and staff to receive their vaccine as well as supporting the NHS staff and volunteers delivering the Covid-19 vaccination programme.

As a result, 100 per cent of their clients and over 91 per cent of their staff in Cheshire have now been vaccinated or have an appointment booked.

Ms McVey said: "I am delighted all clients of Carefound Home Care (Wilmslow) have had at least one dose of the vaccine and the company are on track for vaccinating all its staff.

“I know from meeting with staff at the organisation they are committed to delivering first-class care across Tatton and Cheshire so it came as no surprise to hear they are doing so well in protecting their staff and clients.”

The latest government figures show 20,982,571 people had been given a first dose while 963,862 people had been given a second dose.

The government met its pledge to offer a jab to everyone in the top four priority groups in the UK, including the over-70s and frontline health and care staff, by mid-February.

From Monday, 8 March, nearly two million people aged 60 to 63 in England will start receiving letters inviting them to book their vaccine.

The next target is to offer a first dose to all over-50s by 15 April, as well as people aged 16-64 with certain underlying health conditions and unpaid carers for disabled and elderly people.

Ms McVey added: “The vaccine programme is the way out of this pandemic and it is progressing at speed and I hope that continues so we can see our loved ones once more.”

’I feel safe having my vaccine’

Mrs Groom, a client of Carefound Home Care who lives in Wilmslow, said: "I'm so glad I have had my vaccine as it means I know I can see people.”

“I am looking forward to having my second one so when lockdown ends, I will be able to go out again and feel safe."

Corinne Worswick, a professional carer at Carefound Home Care in Wilmslow, said: "I feel safe having my vaccine and knowing I am protecting my family, colleagues and most importantly my clients.”

“It makes me feel I am doing something important.”
