The takeover will deliver an additional 2,000 hours of home care each week and take the company’s total number of branches to 26.

Smart Care is set to be incorporated into Apex Prime Care from Monday 19 April after the directors Paul King and Alex Van Oortmerssen retired on 1 April.

Apex Prime Care managing director, Malcolm Patrick said: “We aim to foster an atmosphere of care and support, enabling our service users to live as full, interesting and independent a lifestyle as possible.

“Our values align with Smart Care and this expansion is a testament to our desire to make independent living possible for all.”

Smart Care, rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission has branches in Weybridge, Fleet and Epsom. The acquisition will allow Apex Prime Care to develop its presence within Surrey and add to its portfolio in Hampshire.

Apex Prime Care started in Dorset in 2001 when its founders noticed a lack of quality home care available for their sibling, who needed companionship and disability support.

Apex Prime Care has expanded over the years to care for a range of clients; from helping elderly dementia sufferers to maintain their independence, to supporting clients with their mental health and money management.
