Bluebird Care North Hampshire & West Berkshire has employed Lambourn-based driver Kelvin Pottinger to transport their live-in care workers to and from their clients.

This means the care workers can avoid taking public transport and can be confident they can be transported in a safe environment.

Sammie Carr, Bluebird Care’s live-in care manager said: “Kelvin is meticulous in making sure his vehicle is fully sanitised before and after each journey and follows government guidance on infection prevention and control, including the donning of full PPE.

“He is also included in our weekly Covid-19 testing programme that all our staff have been accessing since before Christmas. His professionalism ensures that all our live-in care assistants can be transported to and from their customers safely which in turn minimises any risk of infection and keeps our customers safe.”

This is one of the many measures Bluebird Care West Berkshire and Bluebird Care North Hampshire have adopted during the pandemic, including weekly testing of all care and office staff.

John Prendergast, director of North Hampshire & West Berkshire said: “Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff and our customers is our number one priority and we are delighted that Kelvin is playing a big part in helping us achieve this.”

Bluebird Care is also delighted to announce 99 per cent of Bluebird Care staff have had their first dose of vaccine with many already having had their second.
