Home care provider Bluebird Care appoints 'passionate' LGBTQIA+ champion

A Bluebird Care franchise has appointed a LGBTQIA+ lead champion to support and champion the rights of the LGBT+ community receiving home care.

As lead champion for LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual and/or Ally), Nadia El-Horch will be involved in diversity training to deliver a LGBT+ friendly care environment.

Nadia El-Horch already works for the franchise as a care coordinator and will now begin networking and attending LGBT+ events including Pride.

'LGBTQIA+ people face discrimination daily'

Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead announced: ‘We are pleased to announce that Nadia El-Horch has taken on the role as our LGBTQIA+ Lead Champion for Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead.

‘Nadia is excited to be asked to lead this role within our service, she is very passionate about it’.

Nadia El-Horch said: "LGBTQIA+ people, like many other minorities, face uncertainties and discrimination on a daily basis.

“I want to make sure that Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead is a safe and welcoming space where people can thrive, feel safe, and know that their well-being is of utmost importance to us whether they are clients, care workers, friends, or family.

“I am so excited to have the opportunity to champion LGBTQIA+ equality and challenge explicit and implicit discrimination where ever we see it."
